Hi there,
I was just wondering why there are no extra calories given for strength training?

I am unsure how to log classes such as body pump which is strength training but also gets your heart rate up.

Please help!!

thanks

You can log those as "circuit training" or "strength training" under cardio to see your burn.

Wearing an HRM you can go by that and then create exercises and put it in the database if you don't already see it in there.:flowerforyou: Strength training can be found under Cardio on MFP.

I normally will just use my calorie burn for what I would normaly burn in an average cardio session and devide by half. That to me would be a good guess-timate if you don't have a heart rate monitor. And don't forget the calorie afterburn; your metabolism sky-rockets when doing strength training so you are burning calories at an elevated rate all day, long after your workout is over just to repair the damage to your muscles. :-)
