I'm pretty new to MFP. I didn't realize how badly I was eating until I started logging it and trying to keep under my recommended calorie intake. I'm sure it's normal to crave things when you first change your diet but anyone have any ideas on what to do about it? Right now I seriously want bread....really want it.
so eat some bread! whats the problem with bread? i love bread. i eat bread, everyday! why are you not eating bread? my donuts are bread, i couldnt live without bread.0 -
First. .drink a *kitten* ton of water.. then do what everyone says. . eat some bread.. but not like a whole loaf.. and make it whole grain. . then stop eating it. .
Two bottles of water later and I feel better, like I'm in control of the amount I eat not my craving. Thanks!!

Bread is fine. Tough not to eat the whole loaf when it's fresh though.. so I just buy the packaged kind now.0

Eat bread then. Eat whatever you want. Just make sure you weigh, measure and log everything and stay under your calorie goal.

You could get a low calorie flat bread or tortilla bread and do up a wrap.

If you want bread then eat it just don't overdo it. When it comes to weight loss it's about calories so if you're accurately (scale better than cups usually) measuring out your calories you will lose weight. With that being said I find that what I eat makes a huge difference in how I feel and perform in every way. "I personally" thrive on a lower carb primal diet. Maybe I have a sensitivity to gluten I don't know exactly. When I eat that way I feel much more satiated and satisfied with less calories, and I don't have cravings for junk food, seriously. The only time I ever crave those foods is when I eat them. So the whole moderation thing is nice in theory for me, but when I don't eat them I don't want them, and when I eat them I just can't get enough lol. My experience.0

I eat bread everyday!And have lost some weight too..so bread is not the evil0

I eat a brand called Aunt Millie's, it has a 35 cal whole wheat bread. Per slice it is 10g carb, 4g fiber, 1g sugar, 3g protein, 1g fat, 90mg sodium. Ingredients aren't too bad either for a commercial bread. I think it tastes pretty good and I can still have sandwiches and toast0

I eat bread every day. Bread has always been a favorite of mine. Now I eat less of it and I count it. I am losing weight. Calorie count, lots of water and exercise.
I eat Pizza every Friday too. I use to eat a large pie on my own and now I do 2 slices, 3 if I really want and I just do an extra 20 minutes of cardio exercise to off set it.
Don't deprive yourself of anything you want. Count the calories and do your best to make every calorie count the most you can.0 -
Well... looks like the general consensus is to eat bread.
All I'll say is this...
I am gathering you joined because you want to lose some weight, get healthier, start feeling better, etc. (I could be wrong... maybe you joined for the cat gifs :laughs:) If this is the case, then you likely want this to be a long term affair.
If you love bread, then picking a diet where you are not allowed to have any is just setting yourself up for failure.
You need to find a plan that allows you to continue living life as you enjoy it, but just making better choices.
Your calorie intake is important. Pick your important foods and fit them in, and then pad the rest of the calories in to make the day fit. Aim to meet your macros (proteins, carbs, fats). It's a budgeting exercise.
And then add in some heavier exercise days. Maybe make those days the ones where you allow yourself some yummy bread treats.
It's totally doable. It takes patience, persistence, and determination... but it doesn't have to make you miserable in order to work.

Why are you NOT eating bread? With all the 45-100 calorie breads on the market, it's crazy for you not to be eating bread. Honey I tears some bread up! Not every day, just every few days. Orowheat 100 cal sandwich breads, Sara Lees 45 call/slice bread, you have options...get out there and EAT BREAD!0
