My scales are wrong

Bought some new bathroom scales - digital, salter ones to replace my years old crappy analogue scale. Weighed on both this morning and new scale is + 8lb on the old one. Eight!!!!!
So I weighed a 2kg bag of sugar on the new one and it's spot on.
Bit gutted I weigh 8lb more than I thought I did, and my target weight is now even further away.
I am thinking though that the 19lb I have lost is still (probably) valid. But how do I reflect this on MFP?

That sucks :-(
Change your starting weight?0 -
All scales are different... That's why you should always use the same ones each time you weigh in...0

I had that happen. I had an OLD scale (think the needle and dial!) yes I could tell I was losing, but I wanted a digital so I could 1) read it easier and 2) be able to record decimal points.
I just recorded the new weight in MFP - I didn't care if it was off - so what - I had a correct weight for the scale I would be using from here on out, and that mattered more.0 -
I had to buy a new scale last year. A more accurate one. I didn't change my goal, just had to log in a heavier weight. :explode:
Your starting weight was just heavier at the time than recorded, but you still lost 19 pounds in the end all the same. Congrats!0 -
You can edit your previous weigh ins as well as your starting weight. It's a bit tedious, but it's more accurate that way since you are switching scales. Or, you can delete previous weigh-ins, change your starting weight, and just start fresh from the new scale weight.0

My son has weights and every month or so I put them on the scales to make sure they weigh what they are supposed to. The minute they tell me 40lbs is anything other than 40lbs they are out the door!0

i'd say do this... add 8 lb to your starting weight and change your current weight to what the new scale says so it will still be the same amount of loss... it sounds like your scale was probably wrong all long0
