Well, here it is... : )

Quick back story:

I had my first set of twins in May 2010 and during my pregnancy with them I got up to my highest weight ever which was 368. When they were 8 months old I started eating better and within 1.5 yrs I had lost 107 pounds and I was feeling great and so proud of myself. Then in September 2012 I got pregnant with my youngest son and I totally got off track and gained 40 lbs during that pregnancy. Then I gained about another 20 after he was born and I was eventually back up to 320. Now I am 17 weeks pregnant with twins again and so far I've gained 11 pounds. But I'm not eating right at all and I really REALLY want to get back on track for myself and my babies. My doctor 100% supports me losing weight during my pregnancy AS LONG AS I'm eating enough and getting enough nutrients for the babies.

I have no intentions of starving myself or going on a serious "diet." I am just going to cut out the JUNK food - chips, candy, frozen foods, etc.- and starting eating REAL food. My goal is to lose at least 40 pounds before these babies are born and there is no doubt in my mind that if I count calories and eat healthier foods, it will fall right off. When I was losing weight before I ate 1800 - 1900 calories a day (no exercise) and I was losing up to 4 lbs a week!

The main reason I want to do this NOW is because I've been through a twin pregnancy before and I know how hard it is on the body and I know it is even harder with the extra weight. And although I had a vaginal delivery with my first set, I know there is a high possibility that I may need a c-section and I know the surgery and the recovery will be much easier without so much extra fat on my belly!

So here is my plan....

I will NOT eat junk food.

I will NOT let myself stress eat.

I will NOT get lazy and make excuses to eat crap because I'm "too tired" to make something healthy.

I WILL drink at least 6 bottles of water a day (96 oz).

I WILL eat more fruits and veggies.

I WILL eat more lean meats and proteins (going to cut way down on red meat).

I WILL log everything I eat on MyFitnessPal to keep myself accountable for what I'm putting in my body.

I WILL make more of an effort to eat the right things and not give in to those evil pregnancy cravings!!!

So there. There is my plan and my goal and I am telling you all because I need the extra support and I need to stay accountable : )

Thank you! And yes, I can't wait to make my success post! I did one before after I lost 107 but that's kind of out the window now :/ lol
So yeah... time to start over and prove I can do it again!

I am just going to cut out the JUNK food - chips, candy, frozen foods, etc.- and starting eating REAL food.

I really think this is awesome! And that's pretty much what I'm doing. I would make one suggestion. Maybe add "most of the time" to the end of that. Including "junk" or treats from time to time and in moderation can really make it easier to maintain long term. I think the problem with a lot of those kinds of foods is how quickly you can down a LOT of calories without thinking about it. I still have chips, but I weigh them on my food scale and just have a few. And I *really* enjoy the ones I eat.

Just a thought. Some people find that if they open that Pandora's box it kind of sets them off. But I think most people here try to include foods like that. I try to think of it as a new, more thoughtful relationship with food, as opposed to a diet. If you told me I'd never have another cheese burger I don't think I could stick with a plan. But if I can work it in from time to time and stay on track, it makes it all doable for me.

Good luck and great for you for getting serious!

(edit) Oh! And if you "cheat" - log it, forget it and move on. Don't beat yourself up. That's what makes a lot of people quit. Just get back on the horse and do your thing! You got this.

    Thanks!

And I also have a 6 year old and a 8 year old! Yes, just call me the baby factory. LOL. But my husband and I are happy and I love being a mama... so while I was definitely shocked to find out we were having twins AGAIN, it is a blessing : )

I would love to be able to have the "bad" foods in moderation but that just doesn't work for me. If it's in the house, I will eat it. All of it. LOL.

Believe it or not, when I was doing really good and losing all the weight (over the course of 1.5 yrs) I didn't touch a single bite of fast food (except Subway) or a single sweet (no cake, candy, donuts, NOTHING) the entire time. And it didn't even bother me. But then once I slowly started eating them again, it turned into an every day thing and now here I am again : (

Yup - go with what works for you. I agree that once you cut some of that stuff out, it's surprising how you stop wanting it after a bit. It took me a couple of weeks before those cravings went away.

Congrats (I think) on another set of twins!! I think it is great that you are choosing to do this. My advice would be to limit the junk food that you have in the house and make sure you have plenty of healthy stuff on hand. If it is not in the house, then you will eat something else. Try to incorporate all of your macros into every meal - protein/carbs/fats. This will help you stay satisfied. The willpower part will come in big at the grocery store. Plan your shopping trip in advance, take a list and only buy what is on the list.

If you think or find out eventually that cutting out all junk will make you want to binge, then find something you can have occasionally that will seem like a treat that will help you keep the binges away. Dark chocolate maybe, or popcorn. (edit: nevermind I see you addressed that you can't have just one on the junk)
