Chocolate not my friend... trying to get over the guilt

I eat Vegan. I exercise regularly. I treat myself with chocolate. I am not fat. But I feel guilty. I didn't feel too guilty about it today until now. My calorie goal was over by 300 something today. I thought I was doing great when going out to eat at the Olive Garden and only having a small salad and minestrone soup with one bread stick and glass of wine. That alone totalled almost 700 calories! Wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't had a couple of cookies today and a piece of chocolate. Geesh.... Don't know why I feel guilty. It's crazy.

Chocolate and Wine ARE your friends....but they're those naughty friends that are so much fun and talk you into doing silly things like mooning a cop. Like all naughty friends, best enjoyed in moderation...and without guilt. We all need naughty friends.0

When I lost over 100lbs when I was 40 yrs old I ate Dark Chocolate 80% at the end of every day to curb the sweet tooth…not much but a break off of a bar…it never did any thing to the weight loss… i think it actually helped…0

stop right there!
fine you went a bit over but its fine! consider today your treat/cheat day and move on! next time pic a healthier treat and presto!
you can't change what is done but you can learn and apply from there, is not the end of the world for one bad day, as long as they are not consecutive0 -

Food is only food. It's neither good nor bad. You are neither good nor bad. You ate chocolate. Love yourself!0

Listen to ShredEdde - Chocolate and wine are your friends! There have been numerous articles of the benefits of DARK chocolate and (mainly Red) wine. Moderation is definitely the key and they do help with weight loss.0

I am addicted to chocolate, but the nutrisystem chocolate muffin dessert satisfies me and it is only 200 calories. I have one every night practically for my snack. You can buy a pack of 4 at Wally World for $6.27.0

BTW: Hershey's unsweetened cocoa powder, plus water, plus stevia = the topping for my protein pancakes. NOM NOM NOM healthy nom.0

I actually feel better now because I was looking over my food diary again and noticed I had made a mistake with the "white bean hummus". It totalled 720 calories when I actually only had 3/8 of that! So my calorie total was back in the green! I think I will try to hang on til the end of the day before I treat myself. Cuz then I will know how disciplined I was and if I truly "deserved it!"0

Good idea waiting til the end of the day! I don't believe in depriving myself but I don't want to ruin my goals either! (btw... congrats to you and your progress!)0

Don't beat yourself up. 300 calories is nothing. It takes 3,500 calories to gain a single pound.0

heat some milk to nearly boiling stir in the cocoa powder & stevia or agave nectar, stir until the cocoa dissolves and poof - a lovely hot cocoa. (If you're a fan of Reese's cups, add a tablespoon of pb2 powder.)0
