I'm at 115 pounds with a body fat percentage of 25.8%...!!!! (Freshman 15)
I'm aiming for effective fat loss for stubborn body fat. I do weights twice a week, with a good healthy diet.
Which of the exercise classes below should I incorporate in my plan to shed the fat fast and go to about a 22%?
Thanks in advance.
> Body pump
> Pilates
> Spinning
> Zumba
> Body class
> Piloga
> Yoga
> Grit Strength
> Interval training
> Step
> CXWORX

increase the weights and do whatever cardio you like0

Losing weight is primarily about your diet. Eat at a reasonable deficit. Strength train to maintain lean body mass (and eat enough protein). Cardio can help create a deficit, but you can't out-exercise a bad diet.1

Any of those would probably get the job done. If you're looking for "fast" I'd probably skip on Yoga and opt for a more intense cardio routine. Being so low in weight already, it would be good to continue working on the strength building exercises, so the Grit Strength may be a perfect combination.
Realistically, (and the answer you probably didn't come here to hear is) it's pretty much personal preference. Find a balance between 'a good workout' and 'enjoyable'.0 -

The weights will keep the calorie burn up for longer so by all means keep lifting hard and heavy, clean diet, add a cardio class or classes from your list, spin is a big calorie burner, and you should hit your target... Good luck..0 -

Body weights calculator are often unefficient... are you taking your measurements? are you within a healthy weight range for your height?0

Do what you like to do because it will keep your interest. I personally like Spinning and CXWorx and the GRIT series are nice too. I've seen the most body composition change with the CXWorx class and strengthening my core.0

I LOVE my Zumba!!! I believe it's the only way I would have lost as much weight as I did. Mostly because I love to dance, and it's probably the only thing I'm willing to do consistantly. I also love lifting weights now, but Zumba's my favorite. It also burns tons of calories, but you gotta shake dat bootie! :happy:0

I might go with hitting the heavy weights for a few months and ignore the scale all together, then cut back down to 115 and see where you hit on the BF #. I lost some weight, at one point was at 140 as a 5'9" male, only to discover I had tiny arms and legs and a jiggly mid section and BF was not good. I am now at 160, BF% is relatively the same. My current target is to get to 165 or so, then start cutting, and see where that takes me. Not knowing your height, it might seem that you need more muscle mass to make 115 work well. Just a thought.0
