Just wondering if there is anything on this site that kinda guides you in what to eat so you dont go over your daily caloric intake?

Welcome to the cyber-world of healthy weight losing!
At times, I add the foods I plan to eat BEFORE having them for a meal. Then, I take a look at the total nutritional balance for the entire day to decide if I'll be running over my daily limit.
There's no real "diet", per se, on this program. You're the only one who can control/monitor your total food/beverage intake.
KEY TO SUCCESS: Accurately weigh (on a food scale...cheaper at WalMart) and measure every single item that goes in your mouth and RECORD it on this program. I keep a set of individual measuring cups; a small, straight blade spatula (or knife); a set of individual measuring spoons all with my little food scale. I do not use "eyeball" measuring (it does NOT work) nor eating teaspoons or tablespoons. When I measure anything, I level that item off with my little spatula and I know I'm not over-indulging in that item.
Get yourself into the habit of recording every item either before or after every meal. It keeps us "honest" with ourselves.
Stay committed to your program to become, and stay, more healthy. Take things one meal at a time and one day at a time. That excess weight didn't go on overnight and it most certainly won't go off overnight.
Remember, you will be successful if you stick with the program. This is not just until you lose the excess weight, this is for the rest of your entire life. If you stop doing the healthy things you're doing right now, that weight will creep back on over, and over, and over again. Been there~~~done that, far too many times.
Add me as a friend if you wish.

Welcome. i just joined too. My daughter has lost 91 lbs so far by eating healthy and in moderation. I was down 36 lbs before joining and want to lose another 50-60 lbs. I use the mediterainian diet because it was recommended by my cardiologist and GP. It is a very healthy eating plan. My big hang up is portion size so I love having the food lists on this site to help me with this, In reality, there are times I fall off the wagon but get back up and brush myself off and go right back to healthy eating. Like Claire, I figure my food list for the day, in the morning when I can, then print it out so I can remember what i am eating for the day. Just been here 2 days but I think its going to help a lot. Hang in there and don't give up......................Sandy0
