I really want to try some green smoothies...! I've stocked up on avocados, kale, spinach, fruit juice, almond milk, coconut water, kefir, bananas, blueberries (you name it, I bought it!) and now I'm looking for some tasty green smoothie recipes please. So...what's your favourite combo?

I am REALLY into the peanut butter/banana flavor combo, so today's green smoothie will include avocado, frozen ripe banana, spinach, PB2, and my homemade almond milk.

My favorite green to add in a smoothie combo is Spinach. Spinach is really smooth and you can barley taste it. I've had a juicer and tried kale, and broccoli, but it's really gritty. If it's gritty with a juicer then I know it will be gritty with a blender to make a smoothie. I also like kiwi, because I just love kiwi lol. It may be a little seedy, but i like it. One banana will spruce your smoothie and make your smoothie sweet. I also like an apple from time to time. :)

    My favorite combo is:
frozen mix berry blend (strawberries, mango, grapes, peaches), or fresh when they are in season
    kiwi
    spinach
    banana
    and add some water.

Kale, spinach, carrot, apple is my fave.
And when I'm on cycle.. Dandelion leaves (diuretic), a bit of ginger (reduce inflammation), apple, pineapple (reduce inflammation) and kale (high iron content). I add dandelion leaves to help menstrual and premenstrual symptoms. The leaves are diuretic, which can relieve water retention and bloating from menstruation.

Sounds good! What quantities/proportions do you use?

I definitely should try the dandelion leaves as mentioned by another commenter, but my daily smoothie looks like this:

    1 cup Vanilla Almond Milk
1 Scoop protein powder (use any kind you like, I suppose)
    1/2 Quaker Minute/Quick Oats
1 handful of chopped kale (stems removed, ew)
    1 handful spinach
    1 medium banana
1/2 cup berries (whatever I have on hand) for sweetness

All the fiber and protein and that bit of oatmeal keeps me SUPER full and it seems to clock in at slightly under 500 cals.
