Hello, new dieter here, i've been very careful this past week to weigh out smaller amounts of carbs before i cook them.. but just there i cooked up some pasta and when it was cooked it weighed more than twice as much... so how does it work, does that mean the amount of calories increases too wtih cooking? also when i'm putting it into my food diary i've been putting in dry weight of pasta/rice, should i be putting in cooked weight? in that case my diary is all wrong. eek! help appreciated

The nutritional info for pastas is usually given for dry amounts. Measure or weigh the dry amount. The caloric value won't change by cooking it unless you are adding oils, butter, etc.0

Good to know thanks but then when i put weights into my food diary and i'm putting in 50g pasta, thats the weight that i measure out to cook, should i be weighing it cooked and logging that amount instead?0
