feeling lightheaded in the mornings?

Hello its my first week of getting back on track, this is a rough idea of what i'm eating etc..

Breakfast: cereal (high fiber, wholewheat semi-skim milk)
Snack fruit
Lunch: Tuna sandwich on granary or a chicken salad wrap
snack fruit
dinner: Kind of whatever i fancy in a small portion such as:
Jacket potato, cheese and beans
spag bol
chicken, wedgies and veg
mash, veggie pie and gravey
pasta bake

and one treat a week usually some chocolate on a saturday night..

Lots of walking for exercise per day, and water only...

you get the idea, the only problem i'm having is between breakfast and lunch i'm feeling extremely weak like i'm going to pass out, but i don't have enough calories to have extra, is this temporary?

The way i eat currently is the only way i can stick to my calories without binging etc this has been though alot of trial and error.
an example if i have just plain chicken with veg for dinner im unsatisfied and end up binging- which is what im trying to get over, but the weak dizzy feeling makes me feel so faint and like i could eat loads of junk :S

any advice welcome. thanks

Has this only been happening since you got back on track? If so I'd have a good hard look at breakfast - maybe add some protein to it? Like an egg or some yoghurt - and see if that makes a difference.

If not I'd go and see the doctor.

Edited to add - how many calories per day are you on? Would it be possible to increase them a little for a slightly bigger breakfast and still be in a deficit?

Your diary isn't open so I don't know for sure but I'm willing to bet this is because you aren't eating enough.
  • Thank you, yes its only started happening once I've stopped the binging and exercising more, i think I will up my breakfast some more :)
  • Speaking from personal experience here;

    1. Your body could be taking a while to adjust to your diet change so give it a while and evaluate how you feel after following your eating pattern for a couple of weeks

    2. For breakfast I will recommend adding a lil bit of protein and fat (i.e egg or meat) which will digest slowley through out the morning thus filling you up longer

Hope this helps and all the best
  • Thank you so much, I had some extra breakfast and now i'm fine, feel like i can actually wait until lunch.
I will look into adding some protein and fingers crossed i wont experience that horrible feeling again!

Sounds to me like you need to bump up your calories? Probably not eating enough, How many calories do you eat?

Also are you drinking lots and lots of water? Are you dehydrated? Try getting lots of fluids down you the next couple of days, and eating a lot more protein and good yummy fats.

    Eggs
    Peanut butter
    Avocado
    Olive Oil
    Nuts and seeds
    Cottage Cheese
    Chicken
    Fish
    Greek yoghurt

Try snacking on protein bars/fruit/veggies between meals if hungry
