Need lots of support please

Hi, 46 yr old mother of two, I started on Feb. 1st, just joined here today, eating low carb/high protein, and walking 30 min/day. Great start for me, being a couch potato before., scale hasn't moved much, but wow, are my clothes looser! I am so sick of having spent all my life trying to lose weight! It is the hardest thing for me to do, I quit drinking years ago, I quit drugs many years ago, and I stopped smoking almost 4 yrs ago, so why is this so hard?! I am really needing encouragement from others to keep going, as I know from past it is so easy to give up. I am in BC Canada, on Vancouver Island, but welcome support from all over. I need someone that I can chat with each day, so as I'm new to this, don't know if that is thru FB or email, or messages on here, still learning, thanks

Firstly, I'd like to admire your honesty. Secondly, wow! If you quit drink, drugs and smoking then you can conquer the world girl! I would like to add you as a friend, we could both support eachother?:) I'm in South Eastern England by the way.

  • Congratulations on this new journey!
I started at the same time you did! I'm a mother of 2 and a couch potato NO MORE! I get on my treadmill almost daily these days!
    I'm here for you!
As you've noticed, your clothes are fitting looser?! Great! Mine too!
I love to see the number on the scale drop but it's slow-going after 40 yrs. old...So stay focused and remember it's a marathon not a sprint!

Wow, I just came in from my walk, and was hoping for at least one response, thank you all! Yes, I am trying to not look at the big picture, no pun intended, but the baby steps that make up the journey. I once read a quote from a man who had lost 100 lb, and it has always stuck with me.."Losing 100 lb and keeping it off, is 1/100th of the pain of being 100 lb over weight"
