Welcome!! I am 54 yrs old and have had success with this site if u use it!! What I mean is I started a few yrs ago, logged food, exercise and read these posts every day for motivation. I weighed myself every day-very controversial as u have to be able to handle a 2-3 lb gain even when following your plan. This keeps me from shoving things into my mouth as I have to face the scale in the morning.
I lost and maintained for over a year and stopped being as diligent in logging and tracking. I then stopped weighing myself. Fast forward 6 months and 10 lbs are back on. I re-committed to MFP by deleting my old account and signing up again. I had to remind myself of what worked. You must log, weigh food, eat, exercise, repeat!!!!
U can do this if u just use the site!!!0 -
Thanks so much for the encouragement..I knoe what you mean about the daily weigh in..It can be discouraging but I know its important. I always tried to go it alone..but its good to know so many people understand what its like to fight this battle.0

Welcome. I'm also pretty new to MFP. I joined several years ago, but did nothing with the site and then this January I decided enough was enough and started to actually use my account here. I just turned 51 this month and have been faithful to logging everything that I eat daily into my account. I work really hard to stay within my calorie limitation and try to balance my carbs/fats/protein each day according to what MFP says I should be at. As of today, I am proud to say I have lost 21 pounds!!! That being said, I still have a lot more to go, but I create little baby goals and celebrate meeting those instead of concentrating on the large amount I have left to lose. I'm no expert by any means, but so far as long as I am faithful about keeping track on my calories in and I exercise every day, it seems to be working well. Congratulations on beginning your journey and remember that together we can succeed. This site is a great daily motivator for me so I encourage you to use it daily, too. Good luck.0

Welcome! I just rejoined after a 6 month hiatus. I'm going to be a first time grandmother this fall and I'm the mom of 3. Feel free to add me as a friend if you want.0
