Mmmmmmm... Alcohol!

I would never be able to give up my red wine.
I just make it fit, or don't. Whichever.
That being said, naked grape wines tend to be a little bit lower in calories than some others. I think you can also get a brand called "skinny grape" or "skinny girl" wines. Which are advertised as lower calorie options.0 -
Vodka, Diet Tonic, Lime on ice - only around 70 calories (short glass)0
-
Captain and diet coke, or raspberry Smirnoff and Fresca have been my go to's lately. I also like my Pinot Grigio. I have been buying Bota Box brand lately, because its a little lower in calories, and a little higher in alcohol percentage, so its a win-win for me. lol. Plus, the little individual box is only 3 glasses, so that keeps me from pouring a fourth when I'm fuzzy and warm with wine. lol. Nothing better when I 'm sore as hell from the gym, than to lie in a hot Epsom salt bath, with a glass of cold wine, close my eyes and sip. Very relaxing!0

A couple folks have mentioned Rum and DIet Coke. I tried a Whiskey and Diet Coke recently. It was certainly a change for me since I am partial to candy bar martinis! My husband likes a good Gin and Tonic. This link lists some options:

I love how these threads are typically started on Friday mornings.
getdrunknotfat.com has plenty of options out there, too. AND there are beer calculators based on ABV as well.0 -
when I'm out, its flavored vodka (orange, raspberry, lime, whatever they have lol) and soda water. Not too sweet, but just right. I count each as 70 -80 calories depending on the brand of vodka. I think Smirnoff raspberry is 69 cals per 1 oz. Keep in mind, as a former bartender, I know for a fact that most bars overpour!0

I drink Vodka/Soda Water/Lemon/Lime and call it "Adult 7up". If you squeeze the lemon and lime in it really does taste like 7up. I am really a whiskey and beer girl but that's a bad combination when you are trying to lose weight.
Hard liquor is the least calories but be sure to consider this...
If you mix it with Soda or a high calorie juice, you might as well drink beer or wine. Soda water and a splash of your favorite juice will keep the calories down but still give you the flavor you want.
Vodka and Gin tend to be the quickest to metabolize because other liquors such as Rum and Whiskey have more sugar in them. Comparing Vodka/Gin to Rum/Whiskey is like comparing carrots/cauliflower to soy beans/potatoes. They are all vegetables but some cost you more to metabolize.0 -
Berry vodka + soda or vanilla vodka + diet coke are my low-cal choices, but keep in mind a standard bar shot is 1.5 oz (~105 calories), not 1oz.
Tequila shots. High quality stuff you can sip on.
Red wine. A LOT of red wine. And NOT Skinny Girl. Good wine is worth the calories.
Good craft beer. It may be as high as 300 calories, but I don't drink it like water if it's rich.0 -
Usually Captain and Diet Coke.... diet soda has zero calories and gets you drunk faster (((:
^^This! I usually always drink Captain with diet coke or Pepsi, or I drink Canadian Club with either of the diet pops. Yummy, and super low in cals too0 -
Beer beer and more beer... and some cider.
Typically darker beer, stouts and porters, are my favorite. (Left Hand Nitro Stout!)
The light stuff has its place too.0 -
I am also a fan of alcohol. :drinker: Bacardi and diet coke is my thing....0
-
So there's not way I could give up alcohol completely! I usually drink wine or lager but they're both high in calories. What do you drink on a night out?
Beer.
Wine.
Whisky.
Sometimes all three in the same night, but never in the same drink.
sounds about right. Sometimes, I go for some bourbon. But its usually real ale. Something hoppy and craft.0 -
Whiskey with water + a splash of ginger ale!0
-
When out I tend to go with whatever the guest hand pulled ales are. Joys of being in Yorkshire. At home, I'm a single malt collector, but tend to reserve that for tasting nights. I'll usually have some wine of an evening in.
Canada is getting there with the craft beer. But its one of my biggest complaints since leaving England, and one of the only reasons that my husband wants to move back. Most places here don't support the local breweries0 -
usually Korean plum wine (2 small glasses), vodka or Jaegermeister shots...or a couple of Redd's Apple Ales
I recently tried some beer called Trippel made with coriander and it was good, but for me Redd's are better with less cals.0 -
if you like wine and lager, have wine and lager. just have a little less.0

I've found a new mix for vodka - sparking ice water - it's carbonated - NO CALS, ETC... comes in 17oz bottles so you're good for 2 drinks with just one bottle... I get it at Costco... comes in 3 different flavours and is wonderful!!
Also - I'm a wine drinker - try to stay more to the white wine though - unless the red is 'sweet'... strawberry zinfandel is my fav but pretty sure it's high cal... found a great white wine spritzer though for when I 'run out' of my sparking ice lol0 -
bourbon, neat or on the rocks
Mmmmm...bourbon. I do mine neat a few times a week.0 -
Well, I'm pregnant now so I don't drink at all, but with 2 young kids already, when I've had a rare night out I've drank whatever I fancied!
I like prosecco or cava. I had a girly night out last year and had prosecco, then I think we had some shots. Then for our wedding anniversary hubby and I got a bottle of Bacardi and some coke (MIL had the kids). The next week I realised I was pregnant, so I haven't had anything since. 8 weeks to go...looking forward to a glass of prosecco :drinker:0 -
A shot of Cointreau in a tall glass, add the juice of half a lime and a packet of Truvia (I don't tolerate artificial sweeteners very well) and fill with club soda and ice. I've heard it called a "Party Starter". Has about 145 calories (1.5 oz shot).
Or, the Margaritaville brand of margarita that comes in a big jug (not the best, but if you squeeze in some fresh lime it adds some zing). Blend it with ice to make it seem like more, lol. It's sweetened with agave, and only has 95 calories in a serving (4 oz.)0 -
Literally just found out that Barcardi is quite low cal. Am on my 3rd one tonight and it's quite tasty with diet coke0
-
Bourbon, neat or with 1-2 rocks.
Beer, depending on my mood.
Wine, when the setting is right.
Hell, I like it all.0 -
I actually work out so I can drink (wine, champagne, mojito's) - that's how I "eat back" my calories...:blushing:0
-
Guinness for strength!0

Me too, when I know a good night out is on the cards I'll hit the gym! Good planning IMO0 -
If I am planning on hitting the town and drinking I typically schedule a long run the day or morning of. I burn the hell out of some calories and Typically dont eat when I drink so I end up just fine. So I drink mostly beer or Jack and Coke.0

Parrot Bay and diet.
Yum!0 -
Saving to read later. Looks like lots of great ideas. :drinker:0

Alcohol, what's been keeping me from reach my goal!! I make my own Riesling wine so I am well stocked with that. When I am out it is usually Jamison on the rocks or Orange Vodka. I will be the first to admit I enjoy my alcohol and my social life!!0
