Goals , any suggestions?

I am 5'7 and 166 pounds, I would like to lose about 16 pounds to reach my goal of 150 by June 10, which is my birthday! Does this goal seem realistic and any tips?

  • 16 lbs by June 10 definitely sounds doable! I'd just tell you to count your calories carefully here on MFP and try to exercise at least 2-3 days per week. You should surely get there in time to celebrate your birthday! Good luck :)

    DEFINITELY!

    Set your goal in MFP to 1 lb/week. Make sure to "eat back" at least some of the calories you "earn" from exercise. Give it a month, see how it goes!

    sounds like a good goal

    there is a "you are probably eating more than you think" post that you can search for, it has some great tips for beginners on how to log accurately if you have never done this before, accuracy (and sticking to your target or coarse) is the name of the game.

    Well, I am just a couple of inches taller at 5'9" - but started at 167 on October 5, 2013. On Feb 8, I reached my first goal of 15 lbs lost, just a couple of days off of 4 months. TOTALLY DOABLE!!! I didn't even start a diet for the first 3 weeks, just the working out... You've got this!! :)
