Inspiring to loose 20 pounds before summer, Need some help!

Hi Everyone!

I've been logging in now for the past 3x and am on a 10 week fitness challenge. I feel like i could benfit from some extra encouragement and a great support system. I would be very intrested in learning about everyones favorite cardio and low fat foods! My biggest problem right now is i LOOOOOVVVEEE craft beer, cheese and sweets. I know its bad and fatty :( So if anyone has similar fitness goals i would love some new fit friends and help each other along the way till we reach our fitness goals and create a new healthy lifestyle.     I have the same goal, I'd like to lose at least 20 pounds by summer. I really need to lose more like 40, but if I could get halfway there by summer it would make me feel great.

    I don't have much advice per se since I just started, but what's helping me is just keeping the food diary every day and being really honest about it.

    I think what's good to remember is that you do need some fats in your life! The healthy kind. I love having a spoonful of peanut/sunflower/almond butter. It feels like a treat, and it also doesn't throw me off for the day. Other than that it's just a lot of protein and veggies. Not exactly super fun.
    As for cardio, I don't LOVE it, but I typically just do the treadmill because it's like mind numbing and I know I'm getting a workout, where I question that with the elliptical. I also went to a Zumba class this week. That **** definitely got my heart pumping and was super fun!

    You really dont realize all the stuff you eat in day till you log it!! Honesty really help, hopefuly we can help each other out to look hot in the summer <3

    Thanks for the advice, I really should try Zumba or at least get a dvd i can do at home. I have really bad anxiety in group classes due to it i am a not very graceful and it takes me a few times to grasp concepts. Especially in a fast pace work out <3

    That is so true! And yup, you know we're all vain. Lol. But hey, whatever motivation helps you get healthy. ;)
  • I'm not a fan of beer BUT I love cheeses and sweets! I've had to switch to Ricotta Cheese, low fat Cottage Cheese and the non fat cream cheese. I try to mix in all sorts of seasonings or go the other way and mix chopped fruit or chopped fresh veggies in with them.:drinker:

    For exercise, since I am faced with snow and more snow and even more snow, is to use the basement and my equipment I now have down there. An old exercise bike, treadmill, stair climber (my favorite!) and I turn on the little portable TV or the stereo.

    I'm going on a week long vacation with a big portion of my family the week after 4th of July; about 4 months from now. I really want to lose 40lbs by then so feel free to add me!
