Weight gain?

Ive been going to the gym 6-7 days a week for 3 weeks now and the scales have started to creep up. Im eating more as im burning more but im also including strength training in my work outs. I do cardio one day and weights and abs the next...

Could be some muscle building BUT I am a real stickler on the fact that people SERIOUSLY overestimate the calorie burn, especially with weight training. You honestly do not burn alot of cals with weight training..yes there is the afterburn effect but that is very difficult to ascertain. Whereas, yes, upping cals with the lifting is ok, the amount you up your food intake should be based on your goals..do you want to lose weight? build muscle?

If I recall from an earlier post of yours, you don't have much muscle. So if you're lifting weights now for the first time, you might be retaining water from muscle repair as they start to tone and grow.

If you're eating at a deficit, you are NOT gaining fat. Possibly water or muscle.

Water was my first thought. When I started seriously exercising my weight crept up because of water retention... It came back down after about 4-5 weeks and has stayed down since. The initally increase in food probably contributed a little too, but like I said, everything eventually settled down.

I'd say give it a couple more weeks before you make any drastic changes.

i do understand this, i have a heart rate monitor so im getting a pretty accurate number or burnt calories, plus i normaly do a small bit of cardio before lifting to increase my heart rate
