So I've been following this diet plan that eats a lot of grapefruit.. when i googled this i found an article that said that grapefruit is great for breaking down fat. But with this diet plan I don't have to eat grapefruit all the time.. it just seems to be in the morning with a boiled egg or with/after an evening meal but only 4 out of the 7 weekly meals. All evening meals are either salad with eggs or meats and it doesn't seem to be just after the egg meal or the meat meal.
Does anyone have any further info on grapefruit which will help me further with my new healthy lifestyle? This article said eating 1/2 a grapefruit a day or drinking a glass of grapefruit juice a day will boost metabolism and help lose weight.

Who is the author of the article? Is he or she a clinical researcher, or does he or she cite clinical research supporting the claim that grapefruit breaks down fat? It sounds like snake oil to me. If grapefruit really did that, they would be worth their weight in gold.
The research I'm familiar with is on grapefruit and drug interactions. This Mayo Clinic page is a useful introduction:

If you take any medications regularly, you should discuss your grapefruit diet with your doctor, to make sure that it won't cause any problems.0 -
