Sudden weight gain & not going away?

Hi there,
So about this time last month perhaps, I was around the 54-55kg mark, even during my menstrual cycle. About 2 weeks back, my weight started rocketing up, to the 55-56 mark. I just weighed myself and I'm 56.7kg at the moment, and it's gettting really frustrating. I'm not sure why - I've eaten like I've always been. It's definitely not muscle gain either.
Can someone help?

I know you said that it's not muscle gain, but have you been doing any new exercises at all? When you introduce exercise into your life, you often hold onto water in order to help your muscles recover from the new activity. Even if you're not lifting weights or running marathons, this will happen. So, any new exercise routines?0

I've been running 3 times a week now for about 4 weeks now... I think that's when the weight gain started, yeah.0 -
That could be it! How has your food intake been? Are you staying within your calorie goal? Also, do you eat back your exercise calories?
I would wait and see what happens, and if you've still not lost anything in the next week or two, I would adjust my calories (either up or down, depending on what you're doing now). Also--take measurements! You might be losing inches but maintaining weight.0 -
If your muscles are sore, you are retaining water in them. If your legs are sore from running, that's some of your larger muscle groups that are holding water. That said, if you start seeing other unusual symptoms for you (tired and/or cold all the time, heavy feeling limbs, brain fog, tongue tied....) see your doctor and have some blood work done.0

def watch your sodium levels.... they can make life hell.... This happens to me sometimes & I continue working out.... I weigh every day to make sure it doesn't increase dramatically. Just keep doing the same, watch the salt & sodium and it will eventually dissapear....0

Food intake has been the same as before. And I try not to eat back my exercise calories! To be perfectly honest I haven't been recording everything down for awhile, I kind of estimate and keep it in the back of my mind. For the past 4 months it's been running loose like this and my weight has remained similar.
I'm not losing inches, I've already measuredsame as when I first started, same as what I was when I was at my lowest weight.
But thank you for the tips though.I'll see what happens. I've never been very patient.

The bolded stuff is your problem. The estimates might have been close to start, but over time I am guessing they have gotten further and further off. Get our the food scale and measuring cups and spoons and start measuring and logging all the food you eat.0
