Hey guys,
TL;DR : How do you like Jillian Micheals' 6 week 6 pack, Banish fat boost metabolism, and or No more trouble zones DVDS? Experiences/Results/tips appreciated.
So recently I've been completing my second round of 30 day shred. I haven't done it for a year, because I fell in love with Blogilates on youtube. Now I'm currently doing 30DS and blogilates afterwards to help things stay fresh.
I've designed a workout plan for myself once I've finished this: it is alternating 5 days a week:
2 days JM's no more trouble zones
2 days JM's 6 week 6 pack with blogilates (pilates) afterwards
1 day JM's Banish Fat Boost Metabolism
What combos worked for you? How did you like the DVDs? Did you get good results? How frequently did you do it? I want to know all about it!

I really love No More Trouble Zones, but I haven't really done it consistently as part of a program so it's hard to say that any of my results have been specifically from that. Right now I'm doing T25, and on Sunday which is supposed to just be a "stretch" day, I usually do NMTZ and then stretch so I still get a workout in but it isn't a crazy Shaun T cardio one. I like it a lot! I love working with weights and I feel like there's such a good variety of exercises you learn in that video--it's almost like you could just pick and choose which ones you want to do at a certain point if you were trying to target a specific body part to tone up. It is long though, that's really the only reason I don't do it more often.0

I've been thinking of alternating 30 day shred and 6 week 6 pack by doing one each day. I tried 6 week 6 pack first and really got into Jillian's DVDs I think because they don't last too long but I still feel like I've done a good workout. I've also got extreme shed and shred but haven't really got into that one the same.0

I have had great success with Jillian DVDs! I just started a new workout plan in February that goes:
Ripped in 30
Banish Fat Boost Metabolism
No More Trouble Zones
Yoga
Repeat
My new plan has helped to break me out of a bit of a plateau, I have lost 6lbs so far this month! I am enjoying alternating the workouts, it helps keep things from feeling too repetitive. I am also thinking of trying the JM Kickboxing Fastfit.0 -
Jillian's fitness DVDs are pretty great. They total work a sweat in you.0

Out of those DVD's I really love No More Trouble Zones and Banish Fat. Banish Fat burns a lot of calories and many of the moves are more than doable. I think she hits a lot of areas and I learned some new moves I incorporate in other DVD's. Banish Fat helped me on my weight loss journey along with Amy Dixon DVD's (tabata-style)
NMTZ is very thorough and if you use heavier weights it grows with you.0 -

You can get many of the Jillian Michaels exercise videos for free (as well as a bunch of others) on the Youtube "LIonsgate BeFit channel. Try them out yourself and see if they fit.0

I think it depends on what you are after. If you like to get some toning and some cardio in the same 30 minute workout, then Ripped in 30 is great. However, I want to focus on strength and toning so I wasn't so happy with that format.
I love Jillian's compound moves though and her instruction so i just got No More Trouble Zones. I previewed it and it looks like a good "fit" for me. As debraran1 pointed out, if you stay conscious of how much you can lift, you can increase the weight you use to follow along with the DVD even though Jillian and Co. stick with the lighter weights.
I am starting tomorrow with a plan to alternate NMTZ with some walking on the treadmill.0 -

Thanks for the info. I will be trying them out this week.0 -
Thanks for the info and imput guys! I own most of her DVD's and the ones I don't I've done/reviewed on youtube before this post.0

I did ripped in 30 last year and found I didn't really enjoy it. I felt 30DS was better, harder, and less hurtful to the body.0 -

I have just started a rotation of Jillian DVDs! I am hoping the rotation will carry me to the end of March:
Ripped in 30
Killer Buns and Thighs
No More Trouble Zones
Aerobic Step with Kathy Smith
Kettle Bell Swings with Leg Presses - 14 minutes (90 seconds intervals - with 30 seconds rest)
Out of all the JM DVDs, I really live NMTZ the best- its 40 minutes long excluding warm up and to me it touches all those problem areas. Also she does chat as much as in KB&T and RIP30 - she drives me mad in those two with the incessant chatting.0 -

LOL! Your post made me laugh. You have an awesome routine, too! Those Kettle Bell swings would kill me :P
I just mute the TV and play my music, but sometimes I listen to her if I'm struggling. She's my kind of motivational when I need to get my butt in gear.0 -

Thanks. I love the KB swings because they really are helping to get rid of the fat off my stomach. I started using a 5lb, thought I was going to die, now I am up to 20 lbs. Swinging 20lbs for 90 seconds is a killer, but my stomach have gone down a lot, especially my muffin top. For the first time in years, there is a separation between my breast and stomach.0 -

Wow! Thanks for sharing that info with me. I might have to give it a try if I ever get my hands on some kettle bells larger than 3 Lbs! haha0 -
Well, I've tried both of the DVD's now and am beginning my scheduled! I decided to put 6W6P on hold and fill that day with blogilates instead, because I'd miss Cassey too much if I didn't!
They were both super hard, but I made it all the way through both of them. Still open to hearing other people's experiences and results with these, though!0 -
I LOVE 6 Weeks 6 Pack and BFBM but I've never done NMTZ. Like someone else said, I've never done them as part of a program but I did do them along my weight loss journey with other JM videos, some running, dance, yoga, etc. BFBM is VERY cardio-heavy (you don't use weights at all if I remember correctly, it's been a while) and it's the longest so you get a great calorie burn. I did notice changes in my abs when I was doing 6W6P. Both are great!0
-
Swings are awesome but I just hope you aren't doing Kettle Bell swings with the same technique as Jillian Michaels.0
-
I've only done BFBM and its my go to when I travel simply because u dont need ANY equipment, and its long enough that I'm totally beat down when I'm done lol. I really like it0
-
I just got some of her new DVD's and am interested in people's thoughts too!0
