I'm a 45 yr old lady who is almost.. 50 pounds overwight... I need some friends who I could talk with to help get through the hard times.. I use to be quite the runner back in my 30's, but now I just can't seem to want to run at all... I take thyroid medicine but I still don't feel like I have any energy.. I try very hard to keep my calorie intake around 1500 calories, but I still can' t seem to lose I pound.. I would just love to have people to talk to about helping me get back on track and a healthy weight.. Thanks...

It is important to have a dr that regulates your thyroid correctly. And you need to have it checked at least every 6 months to make sure your meds don't need adjusted. I go to an internal medicine specialist that has a strong interest in the endocrine system. He keeps my TSH as close to 0 as he can.

And we all know that exercising increases your energy. A body in motion tends to stay in motion.

    You can do this!!!!

    Hello,
I desperately need friends for support as well. If I knew how to add anyone I would. Sorry I'm new to this. I've only ever used the calorie counter and I can never stick to it.

Thank you jj1973 !! Sorry it has taken me so long to reply to your message.. I am just getting used to all this app. stuff and recording your food and exercise and I barely know how to get around a computer and smart phones. But I never thought of getting a doctor who specializes in the endocrine system.. I will check into that. I am on medicine and it gets checked every year but I know ever since I found out my metabolism is almost dead I still have an extremely hard time losing weight even with the meds. I appreciate your advice. :flowerforyou:

Add me if you need another perspective as well.. I have previously shed (I don't like the word lost as it indicates that I may want to find it again!) 90 lbs - I did not fully learn the first time around and am I re-shedding 42 lbs as my initial goal. I don't say these numbers to boast just to give you an idea of my story and hopefully can pass on some reference points, tips etc... to help you. don't expect too much sympathy though, only support :P
