Benefits of protein shake for breakfast?

What are the benefits of having a protein shake in the morning over a regular breakfast? I normally look at protein shakes as something you have right after a workout but curious if I am missing something factual out there and not just using a shake as a meal replacement.

    What they said.

Or you can use it to get your metabolism started first thing in the morning and eat breakfast a couple of hours later. I've been known to do that as well.

Your metabolism only stops when you die. There's no "starting" it. Meal Timing is merely up to personal adherence to their diet and how they feel on and perform.

I agree with protein shakes just being for convenience and a easy way to help hit your protein macro. :)

I would personally never recommend a protein shake for meal replacement. I like having a high protein breakfast, but a protein shake wouldn't really cut it in the satiety department for me. A couple scrambled eggs and some greek yogurt and I'm good.
