Polar Heart Rate Monitor issues

I have a Polar FT4 Heart Rate Monitor, and ever since I changed the battery in the chest strap, I've had nothing but problems! It will sense the HRM when I initially put it on, but 10-20 minutes into the workout it says it can't detect it. I've tightened the band, I've moved it around so it stays secure, but for the life of me, can't figure out what is up with it!

Does anyone else have these issues? I really rely on the HRM not only for calories burned, but as a person living with asthma, it's really important for me to watch it too.

Any advice/experience would be great. Thanks!

Maybe the battery is not good or the strap is not in a good spot. Sometimes if I wear mine too low (below my bra), it doesn't work. I currently have to wear mine under my bra.. try saturating the electrode area with water (without the transmitter on) before use. I usually just put a bit of water while it's already on but I've read that completely drenching that area helps some people.

If none of these help, I'd call Polar!

Could it be that the battery cover is not quite tight and you're getting sweat into the battery case?

Perhaps both of these are issues. I know the strap is saturated fine, but I will play around with placement and double check the battery cover.

Thanks for these problem solving ideas!
