Breaking up exercise & calories burned

I'm sure I should know this, but do 3 short walks burn the same amount of calories as one long one? At work I walk during my 2 15 minute breaks and a half hour at lunch going about 3 or 3.5 mph (depending if I have a walking buddy). I put it in my workout log and it adds up the same but it seems I would burn more calories in one 60 minute walk. Thanks

YEP! It's all the same. The only difference is that you're not building up your endurance level. And the long you keep your heart rate up the better the burn.0

You probably do burn the same amount of calories but when you do a solid 20+ minutes the calories start coming from the fat in your body. If 10 minutes at a time is all you have time for you should still do it though.0
