Mini Milestone and Intro

35 year old noob here from Northern Minnesota. July 30th of last year I quit boozing after 15 years of hard partying. I just couldn't do it anymore for health and financial reasons among others. I'm not going to bore you with details. After several weeks of cruising MFP forums I decided to get in shape. joined a gym a few weeks ago and have been logging hard-core for last 10 days. MFP has been a godsend. I never had any luck losing weight over the years. I did lose 25 lbs a couple years ago starving myself on that quack HCG diet. I ballooned to 302 a year ago and was disgusted with myself. It's pretty pathetic when you are too fat to ride a roller coaster or fit in a booth at some restraunts. MFP has taught me a ton about how to live and eat better. I could never figure out why I was gaining weight on low fat foods eve though they were crammed with carbs. Failure always led to binge eating. Man, could I pound a bag a chips like no tomorrow. There is so much disinformation about diet in our society. I've chosen to ditch most carbs for a primal lifestyle. I eat meats, dairy, and some fruits and veggies. Optimum Nutrition shakes and vitamins are awesome supplements which I'm a believer in. I stay far away from processed foods and eat organic when I can now. I'm also working out 60 minutes a day which I'm loving. The results: I'm down about 15 lbs since changing my diet and 12 since I setup my ticker. I'm looking to sharing my before and after pics someday soon. Oh, and please keep posting those success stories. They're great motivation.
