Struggling with the last few pounds + Weight loss plateau

Hi guys. I began dieting a month ago and my starting weight was 54kg (~119lbs). I'm 5"1 ft and definitely not overweight to begin with. I just want to lose a few more kilos to look good. So far, I've lost 5kg in a month and somehow I've been stuck on a plateau for two weeks.
I pretty much exercise everyday - dancing for at least an hour and stuffs. Basically I try to move a lot whenever possible. My calorie intake is 1200 everyday since I'm pretty short. I've heard that once you reach a plateau you should try increasing your calorie intake. I did that (and happily slipped in some sugary stuffs that I've been staying away from) but nothing changed. I'm not gaining either.
Any one has the same problem? And what can I do to fix this?

What did you increase it to?
How active are you? Can't tell from your "dancing and stuffs". How much do you burn on average?0 -
A plateau is generally defined as 4-6+ weeks with no loss while doing all the same things. A week or two without a loss is normal and usually nothing to worry about. It could be something as simple as water weight masking your fat loss (sodium, exercise, hormones, stress, can all cause us to retain a little extra water).
Double checking the accuracy of your logging is never a bad idea, though. I would suggest setting your goal here on MFP to no more than 1 pound a week, and probably 1/2 pound per week since you don't have much to lose. If you aren't already, consider getting and using a food scale. Measuring cups are better than eyeballing portion sizes, but they can still be inaccurate and for some people the inaccuracies add up enough to cancel out their deficit. If you're eating back your earned exercise calories watch out for overestimation. MFP and gym machines both have a tendency to report a burn that's much higher than accurate, causing some people to eat back too many exercise calories.0 -
I'm not really sure about how much I burn daily on average. But I'm really active in my school club, which is a dancing club. I practice almost everyday for at least an hour. We dance to hip hop n kpop songs. Besides dancing, I do about 30 sets each of push ups, sit ups, jumping jacks and squats every morning and night. And I go to the gym once a week during the weekend and use the treadmill for 30 mins and the elliptical machine for 45 mins as well.0

I'll try using measuring cups! I feel relieved after reading your post. I think it's because of water retention. Cos I just measured my waist & thighs and the numbers are smaller! Thank you0
