Hey guys,
Been using MFP for a bit now, and having great success. Possibly not losing weight because I've hit plateau and I'm gaining visual improvement in muscle mass. As a veteran of the army, I'm used to cardio and mindless exercises but wonder if anyone on these forums into bodybuilding or extreme fitness to achieve body fat less then 3%? I want to get extremely cut and wonder if anyone had success with any type of program. I am blood type A+ and naturally endomorph if that helps. My old regiment of army cardio is not working for me, well not fast enough hehe. I want to get cut without losing too much muscles, any tips appreciate.
Phong
PS. I welcome anyone that chooses to add me as a friend to motivate and help track progress.

3%, that's insane man! I mean it's definitely possible, don't pay too much attention to that bull**** "bodytype" stuff, it's all just classifications, generalizations, it doesn't matter. I don't think I'd consider going under 5% personally, because at some point you become way too vascular, and can see all your muscle striations everywhere and stuff. But more power to you!
I'll let you know when I'm at my goal of 6%, although I'm naturally a "mesomorph," whatever the hell that means. Just gained a sloppy amount of weight through overeating and not exercising. If you're dropping THAT much bodyfat, I don't think it's possible to not lose muscle, you just kinda have to deal with it. Carb cycling is a good way to minimize muscle loss when you're in that lower % of bodyfat, but still trying to cut more fat.0 -

Carb cycling, you mean by eating low carbs for a couple of weeks? and then stuff your face for like 1?0 -
Carb Cycling is low carb/high protein/low fat for like 3 or 4 days, and then high carb/moderate protein/low fat for 1 day. Obviously on the loading day you're going to have more calories total, but this combines the effectiveness of a low carb diet with the zig zagging calories effect, with none of the setbacks associated with traditional low carb diets (since you replenish the carbs every 4th or 5th day). My ratios are usually 30% carb / 45% protein / 25% fat on low carb days, and 50% carb / 30% protein / 20% fat on high carb days.0
