Do you roll over your calories?

Im on a 1700 calorie goal at the moment ( might be upping too, trying to figure out maintenance TDEE ).

I recently switched from 5 - 6 small meals a day, which made me always hungry, to 16:8 fasting ( Eating from 1pm - 9pm window )

I find now that I switched to the fasting method, and upped my protein, Im full a lot and cant seem to finish my calories some nights.

Ive been trying to teach myself to stop eating if Im not hungry, so instead of stuff calories in -- Ive been rolling them over to the next day.

So... if I have a 1700 goal, some days I might eat 1400 but the next day Id eat 2,000.

Most people including myself believe weight loss / calories is a weekly affair.
But I just want to double check that this is okay and other people have done it.
I mean, there's such thing as calorie cycling right?

Just looking for some reassurance. Thanks!

    Do I? No.

But today I am going over my goal by 1000, at least.

But, it's okay because my goal is 1000 calories under maintenance.

Do what you need to do, if it's easier to think it terms of a week, do it.

I would hate only being able to eat from 1-9pm though...

Thanks. Figured it was okay. Since it averages out in the end.
But I get nervous about stuff im not 100% sure about

And it actually works great for me ( 1 - 9 pm ), Im loving my eating window because it works for my particular schedule.

I guess I rollover in a sense. I rollover my overages. If, on a given day, I eat over my calorie limit then I consciously try to be below for the next day to equalize things. But if I am below one day, I do not eat more the next day.

If I was still losing I probably wouldnt eat more the next day, either -- but Im trying to maintain so that's why Im paying more attention to being under by a few hundred calories since Im already almost 10lbs under my original goal weight.

But i dont want to gain, either

Every weekday I purposefully "bank" extra calories to enjoy on the weekend. If you are not hungry it just makes sense to save those calories for one of those days when you're extra hungry. It's all about the weekly balance.
