Lost 13 Pounds But Can't tell a Difference? Anyone?

Hello everyone,
I am 18 year old F, Just 6 ft Tall (1.82m)
SW: was 220 Pounds
CW: 204 Pounds
So I have lost 6 Kgs in about 6 weeks, So averaging 1kg a week.
Now I'm tall but I would say My Body Frame isn't big it's actually quite small.
I feel that I can't really see my Weight Loss so far, a Bit in my legs and hips but It just isn't motivating for me. I love the Scale atm because it's really the only place that shows my so far success. My family and friends say they can see the difference But I can't really. My mom often says ''Taller people carry weight better'' so what does that mean? it will take me at least 20kg to see a good difference?
Anyone with Similar Problem?

Im 26, female, 5'3", was 195 lbs now 183 and also see no difference. I dont know how normal it is but in the same boat0

I could tell a difference in the way my clothes fit around 8 pounds, but it was 20 pounds before I could see it in the mirror for myself. Being tall, you can spread your weight out more than us shorties, so it probably will take longer for you to notice a difference. Keep it up, you'll be so glad you did! You're off to a good start!0

This happened to me. I think it's pretty normal. Our brains are really slow to see changes in ourselves. I've lost over 50lbs so far and for the bulk of that, I saw NO difference in the mirror. Went from size 18 to 12, people gasping when they saw me, etc. but to my eye? No change.
What I did was take pictures of myself with my head cropped off, once a month. You can see mine in my profile! Even when I couldn't see it in the mirror, I could see it in the pics and that kept me motivated. Only about a week ago did I look at myself in the mirror and go "WOAH! I'VE LOST A LOT OF WEIGHT!!" I don't why; guess I just had some kind of breakthough. But I expect it'll happen again with the next 50lbs, so I'm keeping up the pics...0 -
First off, great job with the weight loss - keep up the great work and you will achieve everything you desire. Now, as for not "seeing" results - well, when we all begin the journey to lose weight or improve our physical fitness and appearance, we are admitting that we aren't necessarily happy with ourselves. Typically, we are our own worst critic and it takes some time before we actually see the difference....additionally, you have to remember that you see yourself EVERY day and any change that you make is gradual and will take some time to truly see for yourself. Case and point - a few months ago I started to work out harder than I ever have before....I continue to work out 5-6 times per week and eat much healthier than I did. Anyways, I kept looking at myself in the mirror and noticing other places I needed to improve upon - I felt that the strides I had were minimal - then, one day a friend of mine took a picture of me unexpectedly. They posted it to fb and when I saw it, I was actually shocked at how much my body had transformed.
No matter what, keep working hard.....try to maintain a positive attitude and remember, you're amazing and you WILL indeed reach your desired "look!" Don't get discouraged -

I know exactly what you mean. I'm 22, 181cm, SW:221, CW:208.
I've lost 13lbs in a month and even with before photos it's hard to see much of a difference. The only thing I have noticed is that my hips start a little lower and are hopefully going to start flattening down any day now. While I can't see a big difference, I am noticing a big difference with clothes and it's made me aware that my weight seems to be coming off quite evenly all over for now. This is obviously great, but it means I'm staying about the same shape and just shrinking, which I think is why it's so hard to see the change. It is working though, and I know that eventually my body shape will start showing significant changes0 -
Totally understand. I'm 175 cm,and have lost almost the same amount as you. I *think* my clothes are fitting better, but then saw a photo of myself just the other day and it was just awful. I went from feeling positive and motivated to just crappy.
I do have a fair bit to loose, though, so I try to keep it in perspective. :flowerforyou:0 -
I'm also in the same boat; similar stats except I'm only 5'2, so you'd think it would be more noticeable, but it's not. I can't tell in my clothes or anything.
BUT it's only taken me about seven weeks to lose this first 13 lbs, so I'm hoping that in another seven weeks, I can match that, and SURELY it'll be noticeable somewhere then.0 -
I think that's normal. When you look at yourself in the mirror everyday, you don't notice the gradual changes that are taking place. I lost about 15 lbs over a six week period and I couldn't tell except on the scale. But then colleagues and other people I don't see everyday started commenting on how much weight I had lost and since most of them had no idea I was dieting or trying to lose the weight, that made me feel like the work I was putting in really was starting to pay off. Just keep at it, I think as someone else suggested it may be a good idea to take pictures of yourself in the mirror so you can compare them side by side and see the changes, I think I will start that as well0
