Paleo friends with bad carb experience

Hello I am looking for more new paleo friends. After 32 days reintroducing carbs in my diet like oats rice and breads I feel the worst in months! If you also respond best to extremely clean diet (did it for 2 years), please add me. 5 ft 7 female, 146-8 pounds, want to be 120-125

Its possible you have some kind of intolerance if this certain foods are causing issues... but you really have to define "i feel worst in months". Is that a GI issue or bloating, etc..?
Also, 120-125 is practically underweight, may I ask why you would want to do that? Especially if that is a current picture, I would doubt you would have enough fat to lose to hit those numbers. In fact, you would probably have to lose a lot of muscle. Hopefully, you can clarify.0 -

I just want to be that 120-125 Pounds and see how i look I have some fat now and lots of curves.
I tried many times eating carbs other than fruits and vegs and I get sleepy, depressed and bloated, cant concentrate.
I definitely think I have a carb intolerance. EVERYTHING other than fruits and vegetables that has mostly carbs, gives me a lil nightmare, stomach cramps etc.
Dont know why.
I eat high carb moderate fat paleo, but only from fiber.0 -
120 - 125lbs at your height is way too low!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok your gonna work hard to get there, but can you maintain it? Can you eat the things you want? Your weight will go up, as I think naturally your body fights going to low... if you know what I mean?
Im 5 ft 9, and I have been 133lbs before, and I looked way too skinny, and I had to cut the majority of things out of my diet.
Its not healthy and its not realistic,
Work on toning and losing inches... : )0 -

Slim, feminine look may look great!
But if your cutting back on all the foods you love, then when you do introduce them back in, your put the weight back on!0 -
People always seem to freak out whenever someone says they want to be at the lower end of a healthy BMI. Even if it's close to underweight, it's still healthy! Otherwise it wouldn't be in the 'healthy weight range'. I'd hardly say it's 'way too low!!!!!!'. You don't need to cut out foods to get there, my BMI is 19.4 - about what the OP is after - and I haven't cut out anything, I've just carried on eating a deficit. I also don't look anything like too skinny, far from it (unfortunately)! Also OP didn't say anything about cutting out food she loves - in fact she said she's cutting out food that makes her ill.
That said, it takes more than just weight loss to achieve the body in the display picture. OP, if you're already doing weight lifting then that's great, if you're not you might want to take that up. I chose to diet without exercise to see if I could achieve a body like that through diet alone, knowing that I probably couldn't, but I HAD to prove to myself that I needed to do exercise too, or I would never have the motivation to stick with it. I don't have much more weight I can lose and I'm not even close to having a body like that, so I plan on starting to lift weights in a few weeks to try to put some muscle on. So by all means diet down the the weight you want, but if you're only dieting & doing cardio, don't be surprised if you don't look like that when you reach it.0 -
I seem to have put on weight going back on carbs from the paleo diet even though i am eating below my tdee. I felt quite fuzzy and my sleep was effected.0

She may indeed get to her goal and decide she's not comfortable there, doesn't like the look, or can't maintain it, but it's premature to say a lower BMI is unequivocally bad or unattainable/sustainable.
Further, I saw no mention of her cutting back on foods she loves. Though, she might not be inclined to eat foods you love.0 -
I had something similar happen to me when I tried to reincorporate dairy and some grains into my diet after eating Paleo. Dairy wrecked my stomach for WEEKS. Eventually, I think that you develop a tolerance for the food again and it's easier to eat. I have been doing Paleo Primal for about 5 months now.
As far as the grains- gluten still makes me sick, I don't think that I have an intolerance to gluten, but if I have a cheat meal with too much pasta or bread- I am exhausted. It's funny how your outlook changes because before I started Paleo I ate a sandwich for lunch most days. My stomach tolerates things like brown rice, quinta fine,,, I still try to stay away from oats and stuff because they make me feel really bloated.

People, thanks for the answers. I didnt mention probably that I was 2 years paleo and dont want to turn back to any sort of grain or breads or whatsoever, because I dont feel good when I eat that. I really dont tolerate this foods. And I dont need willpower to be strict on the paleo, because I know that this is the only way I can feel normal without cramps. Even as a kid I didnt eat rice because I had stomach pain. I always ate bread and wondered why I feel so sluggish and foggy. So going paleo was the solution to me. I just need portion control, because I tend to overeat!
The foods I love are steak, honey and nuts, loads of fruits and chocolate. I like dairy, but get acne from it, even with enzymes.
So... I must eat clean. The hard part is to eat within the calorie needs for me.
Thank you all, this site is great! I am committed to stay here at least till I fix my portions and get BMI of 18, I dont think it is unhealthy. I just want to have a skinny fit look, not big muscles, not a ripped abs. The woman on the profile pic doesnt have ABS and big legs and so do I want to look. Now I have a 2 to 4 pack, but some love handles, biiiiiig legs and *kitten* and huge breasts. Some may say: nice. But I just want to transform a bit, to experience a new me.

That is how my wife felt with her gluten intolerance.. she was constantly tired. In fact, she napped every day for an hour or two. Now that she doesn't eat gluten, it's much better. But she does have other medical issues. So if you feel this way after eating certain foods, just don't eat them.
Also, the reason I asked about the low weight thing is because I can't tell you how many threads I have seen this year alone of women who are underweight or close complain about how they still have a stomach. Weight really doesn't determine your look. Body composition is the biggest factor. This is why it's possible to gain mass and become slimmer (see staci's transformation from 120 lbs to 130 lbs). Additionally, genetics will have another play in it. So if that isn't you in the picture (i suspect it's a model), then you have to realize you won't look like her. The reason I caution is because many people will spend so much time striving for a specific weight that they will do it at all cost to include cutting calories low to cause muscle loss. The correction is building mass back up which can take long periods of time as it involves bulk/cut cycles.
And one last comment, even if you gain muscle, you won't look bulky or ripped.. you would need extremely low body fat (10-14%) and you have the ability to stop at any point. It just doesn't happen over night.

Consider speaking to a doctor or specialist on nutrition. You may have insulin resistance or something similar. I had very similar experience -- eating over 700 calorie/day deficit and wasn't losing. Eventually, after fighting my primary care physician on it for years, it was investigated more and eventually I was found to have both a thyroid issue (Hashi's) and insulin resistance. I expected the thyroid issue, but the insulin resistance was a surprise.
Some will like to say it's all about calories in and calories out, but that's not accurate for everyone due to various conditions, diseases, metabolic disorders, etc.0 -

But, the various conditions can change the calories out part of the equation so the standard estimators are useless and may lower it so much that it isn't practical or healthy to eat that little. So, you need to address the condition and get as close to 'normal' as possible. That may mean you need to alter the composition of your diet, or do some drug and/or surgical therapies. Then you can address getting your calories in/calories out balance where you want it to be while continuing to do whatever you need to do to stay 'normal'.0 -

That's not actually true. It could be the issue, but not necessarily all the time. Insulin resistance is a great example of an exception to that because the body does not metabolize glucose normally -- it stores more glucose as fat. So, you can eat at a deficit and still maintain or even gain weight -- though you're usually feeling awful if you're doing this because you have less glucose in your blood and available to the cells. Insulin resistance is a great example about how the content of the calories makes a HUGE difference in your deficit. That's also the reason why people with IR can go on certain medications like metformin that aid in proper glucose metabolism and start lose weight at those deficits where they previously maintained or even gained.0
