Anyone doing TapOut? Not seeing results.

Hi,
I have been doing TapOut for 17 days now and haven't seen results. I lost 3 lb then gained 2 back! Measurements haven't changed. I am really disheartened. I did miss this past Mondays workout and logging due to a very hetic day but didn't eat out of the norm. Since TapOut isn't listed in the exercise database I have been logging it in as calisthenics vigorous effort. I am wondering if maybe I am not eating enough? I have 0 energy throughout the day and feel like I need a nap mid day. My diary is open, any suggestions are wrlcome! I need to lose about 86 lbs.

If you're doing a 2-3 lb fluctuation, it's probably water retention. It often comes from starting a new workout program as the muscles attempt to repair themselves.

Otherwise, for diary commenting: try investing in a Heart Rate Monitor. Even with 86 lbs to lose, 900 kcal burns for roughly an hour of exercise seems potentially overinflated. Better to round down quite a bit from the MFP database, or get an HRM... which is also an estimation and should be taken with a grain of salt, but at least functions on your actual heart rate instead of averages in the MFP database.

As for food; are you weighing your food? I see a few "4 oz" type things, like for a potato. Is that an eyeball measurement or the actual weight? If you can be accurate with those, you can truly find out what might cause weight loss to pause.

Not that you should think that now. It's probably still water retention. And it's probably too soon to see changes; 6 weeks is a good amount of time to figure out if a diet or exercise change is doing anything once water retention has leveled out. Plus, be sure to take measurements and photos. The scale does not always reflect changes that are happening.

No, it is a very intense interval training mixed martial arts (MMA) style. Insanity and P90X are similar programs

I went back through a couple of weeks in your diary and have a few suggestions.

*Log every bite, every day (you have a couple of blank days - not too bad, but could make a difference long term)

*Weigh/measure every bite of food you eat. Solids get weighed; liquids use measuring cups/spoons; Most cheese entries on the MFP database are in cups - that's just not possible. Cheese is a solid.

*Find something you love to do - and do it consistently.

*Be patient and build habits that will replace motivation

    * Remember that weight fluctuates. Look for the downward trend over time.

    Good luck.

Firstsip, I am weighing my foods, so I am confident that I am logging cals correctly. I have a hr monitor but the battery is dead. :/ I just dug it out today. Going to have to run to the store and pick up a new battery. Though I really do think I am underestimating the amount of cal burned because of how I feel the rest of the day...absolutely no energy.
