I've lost 47 lbs!

In January of 2013 I hit the scales at 245 lbs. I'm 73.5 inches tall. I was wearing 36" waist jeans and said I was making my stand at this size. But with my belly hanging over my belt with the buckle digging into my gut, and I having to take a breath when I bent over to tie my shoes....something had to change!!! A friend of mine at work suggested this site and I tried it. I thought 200 would be a good goal to get to. I wasn't very serious about it though until May of last year. I was at 240 then. I decided to get serious about it all and by Thanksgiving I was down to 204. I'm now down to 198. The great thing about it all is that you don't have to do anything major to your diet. Just quit eating when you're full or don't eat when you're bored. Only thing I've changed otherwise in my diet is no more regular soda's. Its either water or unsweetened tea. I used to drink Coke 3 or 4 times a day. The other day I got one accidently and it just about gagged me...lol I allowed my self cheat days at 225 and 200 where I could eat whatever I felt like and as much as I wanted to....just for a reward to myself. I highly recommend this site to whoever I talk to when they ask me how much I've lost. When I reached 200 I decided to go for 195 and I'm just about there now.
My older brother has been doing this site for 2 yrs now. He was at 305....and 76 inches tall. He is now down to 225.

I've only joined MFP recently and have not weighed myself again since starting but having to keep an 'honest' record of what I'm eating is definitely helping and of course reading stories like yours. so inspiring.x0

I might do that too.0 -
Thanks everyone!
Another big plus to losing the weight was that at 245 I was quite the snoring machine. My wife wanted to put a pillow over my face every night due to my snoring so loud. Since I lost the weight I'm no longer a snoring machine!0 -
I have watched you work at this and to get yourself healthy again after your surgery. I bet you could beat me around the track now and wouldn't be telling me to go on without you Keep up the good work you are an inspiration for others who are trying to live a healthy life!!!0
