Post kids, post nursing, and ready to get fit

After weaning my second daughter, I gained 15 pounds in just a few short months. I'm in my 30s and know that I can no longer rely on a strong metabolism to keep me thin.

I describe myself as flabby skinny (5'7" and 140 pounds). Through lots of cardio (running, biking, swimming, Zumba and yoga) and very careful food journaling, I have lost 7 pounds in the past month. My goal is to add weightlifting to tone those flabby areas.

    you can do this!
    go kick some butt!
  • I'm in a similar boat. My twins weaned the same time my Mom died, so I started emotional eating and was no longer burning the calories by nursing two little ones. I'm no longer going to do emotional eating!

If you're looking for a challenge you can do in your own home (which has been great for me with an 11 month old) I highly recommend Jillian Micheals DVD's!! She incorporates strength, cardio and resistance training that becomes more challenging as you progress (30 Day Shred and Ripped in 30) and also offers modified moves to alot of exercises for beginners. I've had alot of success using her DVD's! Good luck!!
  • Awesome! Im still nursing my second. Weightlifting will def help!

Thank you for the kind words and for your stories.

I'm sorry for your loss Serenity. I'm not so much of an emotional eater as a bored eater!

I have used several of Jilian Michaels videos and they are incredible for those times I just can't leave the house!
