Ketosis on a calorie restricted diet

Has anyone noticed they have gone into Ketosis when on a calorie restricted diet? I am doing the 50/30/20 of Carbs/Fat/Proteins and keeping good track of my intake. I eat around 1400 calories daily and just under 200gr of carbs. I don't restrict my carbs generally although I am probably eating fewer than I have in the past, of course. Eating carbs is how I got where I am now. lol I was always under the impressions one had to eat less than 100gr to experience ketosis.

Just wondering if anyone knows why or has noticed it in themselves. I used Ketone strips since I started having some unusual symptoms that seemed to match and am in anywhere from small to moderate.

PS: I am not complaining. :) Just thought it was odd.

    There's no way you should be going into ketosis until your carb intake is under 50g-ish a day. That's very strange

    Ketosis strips are notoriously unreliable.

    Hmmm. At first I thought I was just dehydrated. I do drink a lot of water generally and kept better track today but I am still showing signs of ketones.

    I have a doctor's appointment Friday for another issue and will ask for their opinion/thoughts.

    I wonder if the strips expire? I will have to check for an exp date.
