Vitamix

Anyone out there own a vitamix? I just got one and have been using it to make strawberry daquiries, but now I want to get serious about juicing. I guess technically it isn't juicing because it pulverizes the whole vegetable or fruit into liquid. So far I been using cucumbers, bell peppers, broccoli. Anyone ever use Kale or even Wheat grass? Is wheat grass safe to use with vitamix?

Yes, yes, yes!
I cut the wheatgrass into about 1 inch slices to make it easier on the motor, but yes I have been enjoying wheatgrass lemonade all week: small handful of cut up wheatgrass, 2 whole lemons with rind and pith cut off, stevia sweetener and water! Put on the smoothie pre-set and enjoy.
Kale works, Collard greens work, Spinach works -- all them greens are great.
Just wait until you start on soups. Velvety texture. Somehow creamy without any dairy.

Yes, I have one! Love how it blends up the Kale! You can't do that with a Ninja! This morning I added, Almond Milk, Pecans, Kale, Celery, Mango, Acaci (sp?), cranberries, oh, I forget everything I added now.
Green Basic Smoothie:
6 Leaves of Kale
1 apple
2 stalks of celery
1 cucumber
1/2 lemon
Ginger to taste
Romaine Salad in a Glass
1 cup Romaine lettuce
1/2 cup broccoli florets (about 1/2 crown)
2 apples, unpeeled & cut into slices
1 orange
Tomato Juice
2 large tomatoes, quartered
2 carrots, unpeeled & tops removed
2 stalks of celery, tops included
Eat your Greens Fruit Smoothie
5 ounces organic baby spinach
1 medium banana (1/4 frozen if on low glycemic diet)
1/2 cup soy milk - or almond milk (I prefer almond milk)
1/2 cup pomegranate juice or other unsweetened fruit juice (Omit on low glycemic diet)
1 tablespoon ground flax seeds
High Cruciferous Juice
6 medium carrots
6 cauliflower florets
2 apples, cut in fourths and de-cored
1 bunch kale
1/2 bunch watercress
1/2 head broccoli with stems0 -
Thanks for the info, I actually just mix them into juice and hold my nose and gulp it down. I have always hated veggies.0

I just cook my veggies, and eat them.0

I've never tried wheat grass, but I use all the rest in my vitamix. Lately I've been throwing all my veggies together, adding fruit and tofu, then eating it as a salad at lunch unblended. My smoothies have been frozen fruit, banana, milk, protein powder, plus chia, flax and hemp seeds. Smoothies are great for hiding nutritious things that you should eat but you don't necessarily want to see whole on your plate.0

I have the Blendtec, which is very similar to Vitamix. I love doing spinach breakfast smoothies:
400 g spinach
1 cup blueberries
6 Almonds
Vegan protein powder, vanilla taste
250 ml unsweetened almond milk (30 cal)
Tastes very nice!
If I have some veggie leftovers I throw them into the mix. Without my Blendtec I would NEVER eat 400 g of spinach!
