Hi Sam :) myfitnesspal is a great place to start on your journey, good luck! Advice I would give would be to be honest and log everything, I find it helps - even if I'm naughty I can look at the report and spot habits etc (and attempt to improve them!!) x
  • Hi Sam I agree you have to be honest and log EVERYTHING you eat and drink. It really makes you focus when you see the calories counting up, but great to see you get more when you log exercise, whatever form that may take, walking, gardening, housework, playing with kids etc. I started a week ago on MFP and it is working already, if I eat something high in calories I adjust at other meals or with a bit of exercise, it really works. Good luck.
  • Thanks for the replys and kind words. I cant already tell this is goin to be a fun ride.
  • Hey Sam, nice to meet you! My name is Sammy, haha. I am excited for you that you are taking a step to change yourself, you will feel so much better!!! I am new to this site. I lost 20 something pounds after my 3rd year of college and actually became thinner and healthier than I was in high school. It is not an easy journey but it is fun learning how you can eat differently and still enjoy your favorite foods and become healthy at the same time. I am also new to this site. I am trying to get motivated to lose my winter weight. I usually gain 5 pounds in the winter but I am now up 8 pounds and I am feeling pretty low so I need to do something to get me motivated and keep me accountable.
