If you stick to it you will lose weight, but the actual HCG doesn't do anything for weightloss, even assuming you have the shots and not drops0 -
Hi Renee, I did the drops and the 500 calorie plan, I did lose the weight (20lbs) but then gained it back once I began eatting a 1200-1400 calorie diet. Definitely get a food scale. My best friend became my George Forman grill - great for shrimp, chicken and asparagus. Best part it was fast, while on HCG I noticed when it was time to eat I wanted everyone and everything out of the way!!!!0

Yes!! I haven't seen a HCG thread in ages! In before the lock!!:bigsmile:0

Please don't do it. A few years ago I was desperate after other attempts to lose weight (thyroid issues) and I tried it. I lost 7 pounds in 10 days, but I started having some crazy side effects and I stopped. Once I went off, I ate very healthy and stayed at 1200-1400 calories, but I just kept gaining weight. It was like my body was hoarding and I ended up 20 pounds heavier than when I started.0

HCG is a placebo. You actually lose weight from the unhealthy calorie deficit.0

NO!!!!!!!!!!!! JUST NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :grumble:
There are no quick fixes!!! You will destroy your health do this!!0 -
It doesn't do anything that eating 500 calories won't, and it's horrendously difficult to get adequate nutrition on 500 calories total. And as many others have posted, it very frequently leads to rebound weight gain.0

I inject hcg into frogs to induce them to lay eggs for my research. No way I'm going to put that in my body. I'll start laying eggs!0

I've had friends that have done it and I've thought about it too, but all of them have gained the weight back immediately after they stop taking it. I want a more permanent solution to my weight loss so I stick to the old fashioned exercising with a healthy diet way.0

My advice is to stop now, while you're ahead. I know a dozen people who did this diet. ALL of them ended up worse off for it. All did the injections (yes, under "medical" supervision) My Father-in-law now has a heart condition from all the muscle he lost. My mother-in-law lost and regained the same 40 lbs 3 times, but now she's 3 sizes larger than she started because her body fat % got higher with each round. And yes, she did follow the instructions to the letter. My husband gained back every ounce and couldn't lose weight with traditional calorie counting for a full 2 years after quitting HCG.
I don't know a single person for whom HCG has worked out.0 -

I had hoped it was dying out but it seems to be gaining popularity again. :grumble:0 -
In before the lock!
OP: The HCG is a dangerous form of weight loss that is not supported by MFP, and goes against their by laws....which could cause you to become banned from the site. Just FYI.0
