Just a couple thoughts:
You've lost 20 pounds which is AWESOME! Have you resent your MFP goals since you've lost that much? Your calories might be off.
Also, do you have a food scale that you're using for your meals? I noticed a huge difference when i purchased a food scale because simply guessing portions wasn't cutting it.
You may be putting on muscle which could account for the dip in weight loss. Do you take measurements fairly frequently?0 -
Looking at your diary, I noticed your profile mentioned pre-diabetic. If so, I'd switch your breakfast from cereal with non-fat milk (high in carbs, not great in protein and low in fat) to something like a veggie omelet with cheese. It will keep you full longer due to high protein and good fats, and new research shows no need to be afraid of eggs.
Maybe try cutting your carbs in half and increase your fat and protein== avocados, nuts, full fat dairy, EV olive oil, greek yogurt, etc. Chef salads are awesome for getting in lots of veggies, protein and good fat but lower in carbs.
I bet that would break your plateau.0 -
Also there's an error on the entry for lunch. The Better Oats Oat Fit with Flax (Maple & Brown Sugar) is listed as 0 carbs on your diary, but online info says 18 carbs, 3 being fiber.
So frustrating when MFP data base is inaccurate.
Anyway, just thought I'd let you know if that is a staple of your diet, the macros are wrong.
Hang in there! You are doing great and congrats on 20 pounds gone!!0 -
Ahhh my god. I hate plateaus and they can be difficult to break. Now, I had to change my perspective on the plateau - think of it as "practicing for maintenance" lol.
I was in an 8/9 month plateau, of which i tried increasing calories, decreasing calories, increasing protein, decreasing carbs, started IF, exercised harder, stopped exercising, changed from cardio to weights, and weights back to cardio. It was discouraging for the most part, but I kept in mind that "If i give up, i will gain my weight back, and if i ever want to lose it - i will have to go through this all over again".
I purchased a fitbit and bodymedia armband to try both. Broke the plateau and I have been losing ever since. To give you an idea of what the bodymedia did for me was to basically tell me to eat more. I was eating around 1500-1600 (increasing up to 1900 and down to 1200 while trying to "switch things up") The numbers came to be very close to those that were given to me on the scooby TDEE Calculator website, which is essentially TDEE minus 500 calories. To switch things up now, I go from a 750 calorie deficit to a 500 and back and forth when weight loss slows down.
Good luck. Just keep going - do it for health if you are not losing weight.0
