So, recently discovered I can do an actual plank transferring from Downward dog. Can't do an actual push up quite yet (I can half 455 it) But should you tummy be sucked or relaxed ?

BTW, my time is 10 seconds for a plank, 30-60 seconds for downward dog depending on the day and whether I'm just doing it for fun or workout)

if you are doing it right, they will be tight. your whole core will be.

sucked in. that also helps to make sure you dont end up dipping in the lower back

I would say flexed or engaged instead of sucked in.

    This.
You never want to "suck in".
Picture your automatic reaction to someone poking your belly.

You cannot do a plan with a relaxed tummy, the whole point of the plan is to work the core.

If it is a yoga movement, as you say from downward dog to plank, then the tummy is sucked in and the pelvic floor is engaged; breathing into the upper chest rather than the belly.

If you look toward your feet for a moment while in plank, that will lift your pelvis and you should feel your core more engaged.

Keep your abs in and your glutes tight throughout the set. Side planks are good as well.
