Having Troubles Eating my Calorie Goal

After researching I realized I can't loose weight because my body is in "store" mode. With my current height, weight and weight loss goal I was given a 1200 calorie diet. I am having troubles getting 600 calories in a day let alone 1200 across the board I am only getting about half of my daily limit. Frustrated about all this eating I am doing and not getting anywhere.

If this were true, you wouldn't be overweight to begin with. Just eat. Seriously. If you're trying to go so "healthy" that you can't eat enough vegetables to get over 600, add meat, fats, carbs. They are good for you.

    1. your body is not in "store" mode, 600 calories a day and there is not a darn thing for you body to store.
    2. as said above eat a balanced diet, feeding your body is just as important as maintaining the calorie deficit to lose
    3. if you are actually happy at 600 calories a day you need to go talk to a ED specialist

Agreed. You'd be losing rapidly if you truly were consuming a paltry 600 calories. Prepare your own meals and buy a digital food scale to weigh everything you eat. Be honest and log everything as well.

Based on your ticker you only have 20lbs to lose? If so, you need to set it to lost 0.5-1lb/week. AND EAT. For goodness sakes, we don't get overweight by not eating. Everything in moderation. No need to cut things out unnecessarily.

I posted something similar and some members on here ripped me apart, so BEWARE! That being said, some of the best advice I got was to eat full fat/sugar foods if possible instead of the non-fat low-fat sugar free foods. Also, bulk up what you're eating as much as possible...example, if you're eating egg whites for breakfast use an actual entire egg. If you're eating low fat yogurt go with something heavier like greek yogurt. Cook your vegies in Olive Oil for some extra health fat and calories...I hope that helps!

OH! I it was suggested that I eat a spoonful of peanut butter too...yum!

1.) If you want help you need to open your diary.
2.) Get a electronic scale and weigh all your food (sry theirs no possible whey you are only eating 600 cal and being full)
3.) If after you start the weigh your food and are actually only eating 600cal than you need to go to the doctor.

This is jut my opinion of what you should stare to do if this is a real post and not just trolling I am currently willing to give you the benefit of the doubt.

In high school I suffered from an ED even though your metabolism drops you still lose weight quite quickly. Flash forward a decade I still suffer issues from it one being low muscle mass & slower than average metabolism b/c even after I recovered I never took steps to undo the damage that was done in those 2 years. I don't know why it took me so many years to realize that I needed to weight train, I always thought muscle weighs more than fat I don't want to gain weight. Now I am having more success than I ever had by changing my lifestyle.

I often question people in my head when they say I am overweight b/c I don't eat enough.

When I first joined MFP, almost a year ago, I was in the same boat... I logged honestly for a couple of weeks to see where I was 'going wrong' and I honestly thought I was logging wrong because I was eating on average around 600 cals a day, and I was 187lbs.
I wouldnt eat breakfast because eating too early in the day upset my stomach (I work shifts starting at 5:30am/pm which means being out of the house at 4:30am/pm)

After writing a post on here, I got a lot of wonderful advice and am now a very comfortable 145lbs after learning to eat more.

As with everything... It is a learning curve... If you are honest with yourself and you are eating 600 odd cals a day then eat Higher calorie, healthier stuff (like Peanut Butter)
If you are not hungry, or you skip breakfast then consider a meal replacement drink in addition to your meals, NOT INSTEAD OF, (I started off by drinking Slimfast or complan for breakfast until my body realised it was natural to be hungry, then I would reduce the amount of nutrient drinks and ate a little food with it, before swapping to just food)

I will not put you down for being overweight on 600 calories per day because I WAS, And to this day I dont understand how it works... But what has worked for me is to work out my BMR and eat just above it, eat back all my work out calories, and just learn to enjoy healthier foods.

Just take one day at a time :)

    Good Luck on your journey
