Lunch and running while at work

Hey Guys,
This might seem like a strange post, but in anticipation of weather enabling an outdoor workout (I better have not just jinxed it) I am thinking about how I'll work this at lunch. Currently my lunches take a while to crunch down as they are full of raw veggies, protein like tuna or egg salad and yogurt. I am not eating bread, although I am not low carb, so an easy nd convenient sandwich won't do. Anyone have any ideas for healthy, filling and easy to eat lunches that I can get down in the 10 minutes that will be left of lunch by the time I get back to my desk? I don't really want to focus on protein smoothies but I guess that's an option?
Couch to 5K here I come woooooot

If you are working on C 25k. Then your run will have to be less than 20 min, unless you get an hour lunch.
I don't see this working out long term. You are just going to end up sweaty and smelly when you get done with the run.
I try to just eat at my desk wile I'm working all day.0 -
I do a half-hour run, wet-wipe shower and deodorant and eat at my desk. I'll often bring leftovers from yesterday's diner. You might need to find carb alternatives to bread (rice, bread, pasta, couscous etc) as you might find it hard to progress in your running when you're low on carbs.0

I run on my lunch break. I generally bring something for lunch that isn't smelly, as not to offend those around me, and eat that once I'm back at my desk working. As long as your employer doesn't mind you eating on the clock that would be my suggestion.0

I run at my lunch and eat at my desk while working after. Baby wipes for a shower in winter and rinse off in the shower in summer. I am lucky my office has locker rooms.0

I only get a half hour for lunch. I can't eat my whole homemade salad in my allotted time as it is. (It is a pretty big salad.) And as soon as the weather warms a bit I'd like to start walking at lunch. So I think I'm going to throw all the veggies and fruits into my vitamix. I've done it before and found that you can pack a LOT of food into a 28 oz bottle.
So I'll walk for 30 minutes and then slowly sip my lunch when I get back to my desk over the next hour or so.0 -
I get an hour, we have a gym with showers on campus0

What's your problem then? Are you not allowed to eat at your desk? On running days I eat half of my packed lunch around 11 and the rest once I get back to my desk0

Just got back from a 6 mile lunch time run. :bigsmile:0

I don't run, but I go in early to work out in the gym provided for us in our office. I also take a walk after I work out in the morning before work, or on my lunch break, when the weather cooperates. Winter has not been very kind to us this year (Minnesota), but it may get better in the next couple of months..................hopefully. It is going to take a while to get rid of all of the snow. We have a shower and lockers in the office. I eat both breakfast and lunch at my desk.0

I only get 30 minutes for lunch - I usually try to pack something easy - I even heat stuff up in the microwave - I eat for about 15 min - then I go for a walk weather permitting - I am NOT a runner and a nice walk keeps me from getting too stinky at the office (I suppose wet wipe shower would work, hadn't thought of it before) I can snack at my desk, but the guys aren't thrilled if I eat a meal at my desk - at least not on a daily basis - I do it once if a while if I have to run get kids or some other crazy out of normal thing.
I try to do a short workout in the morning, walk at lunch. If I wanted to get a long run in - it would have to be after work - it's the only time I could maybe have time.
Some suggestions that are easy - soup/reheat last night dinner. wraps - using the lunch meat as the wrap. If you still want the veggies, maybe you could snack on those at your desk. I know I could get away with some carrots, etc. at my desk - just not allowed to have a whole meal there.0
