Working as a mover

I'm having trouble figuring out how to calculate the calories burned from my job as a mover. I'm noticing my food consumption has increased to a large degree, but I don't feel like I'm over eating, I feel like I'm sustaining myself.

I figure it's a mix of walking, and weight lifting. I mean I pick up heavy boxes/furniture, carry them to the truck (up/down stairs or around the house) up the ramp and place them in the truck. I have no idea how to keep track of the calories. I THINK I'm losing fat, my weight isn't dropping, but I'm gaining muscle and I think my gut is smaller.

Any idea of how to calculate it?

I have a physical job too, and calculating calories burned is never going to work because that number fluctuates greatly depending on a lot of factors.. sadly the only way I could tell when im in a deficit or a surplus when im at work is my energy level.. if im feeling lethargic and having less energy while at work then most likely im losing body fat.. nothing extreme like im going to fall asleep at work but not feeling like my best .. its more about self awareness

Yea... that's how I've been playing it mostly. Thanks for your input, and keep up the good work, friend! *fist pump*

What you could do is change the activity setting in your goals/ profile settings. As a mover, your activity level should be set to "very active".

That way you are not having to try to work out the calories burnt for each day, it's already factored in to the daily activity you do.

If you do any additional exercise to this, eg, swimming, riding, aerobics class, whatever - those are activities you will need to get the calories for (and make sure you eat at least part of those calories burnt back).

Additionally, you bet you will get muscle! I've no doubt your gut is tightening due to using stomach muscles for every movement, etc. Don't worry about the scale at this point, the job you are doing will be enough to redefine your shape. I worked in department store in the stock room and did many similar actions as a mover - best shape I'd ever been in my life!

O_O it says I should be eating 7,400 calories, that seems obscenely high.

    7,478______935____250____374_____2,300_____280

Whoa! Yeah, that does seem obscenely high!

You checked your height/weight measurements and it was in the units you wanted? (Metric vs Imperial?) Otherwise I'm not sure what to suggest.
