Help recovering from soreness after workout

Friday I did a video workout. It was Shaun T's T25. I liked it but my legs are really sore. Is there any thing I can do to help with the soreness? I've drank a lot of water but not sure what else to do. Any tips?

Cherry juice is supposed to help with muscle soreness. epsoom salt baths, and try to keep moving, I find the stiffness worse when I sit for a long period.

Thanks all. I found all this really helpful. I found the more I moved and the more water I drank the less sore I was. Thanks again.

Walking a couple slow miles, using the foam roller and good old fashioned Aleve work for me.

All of the above, plus potassium-rich foods. Milk/dairy, oranges, sweet potatoes, pistachios, fish. There are others - you can google it to come up with more.

BCAA's are nice for muscle recovery (buy bulk powder instead of pills, much cheaper). Icing is tried and true. Foam rolling will help with the soreness as well as increase your mobility.

Most of all, keep working out and moving.

Everything everyone else said is gold (except I'd avoid the ibuprofen if possible), and I've also found supplementing with L glutamine is working wonders for muscle recovery for me.

Oh god! The first time I used these I put a little in and felt nothing and well, I thought "some is good, more must be better" HA! It felt like I had electricity running through my legs. WHAT A CRAZY FEELING. Some is good, more is not better.

Also, lots of water & protein :)

    This.

Over time, doing more similar workouts will probably mean you don't get sore from them nearly as much.

I actually LOVE the pain I feel the next day after I lift. But then I try to increase my weight every time I lift so it's earned.

BCAAs before a work out, FOAM ROLLING! So so important. I once thought I had seriously injured my knee, my ITB (outer thighs kinda) were just tight! Spent some time massaging them and pain totally gone.

I also take magnesium which prevents muscle cramps from lactic acid after exercise.

Well done on pushing yourself :)
