I've heard about all the benefits of lifting heavy. Now I want to do it.
My question: how do I start? What kind of exercises can I do? How many reps?

Ditto all of that. And if you are really unsure, find a strength coach - someone with Olympic lifting certifications and get a few sessions with them. If you want to lift heavy, doing it properly is first and foremost!
And most of all... ENJOY! The results will be amazing.0
