Lower Belly Workouts?

I know you can't specifically target a certain area per say.... But maybe there are some workouts to help move that area long with the rest of my body? I've been here about a month and a half and I've lost pretty much everywhere except my lower stomach. Any exercise videos or tips you could give me would be helpful! Thanks :D

  • There is no specific recipie to make an area smaller and more toned. For lower abs its a combination of cardio (fat burning), eating healthier (less starch, more fruit, veg an protein) and strength training to your core. I work abs daily in combination with cardio. I love Fitsugar (popsugar) video on YouTube. 10min of feeling the burn and they are FREE. Some require weights, but most don't. The saying "abs are made in the kitchen" is no joke. Cutting out refined sugar (read labels!) and adding more raw foods, aka unpackaged, you made it/you know what's in it, are your best bets!

As you say, you can't target specific areas for fat loss with specific exercises. So, any workout that helps you create a calorie deficit will help move that area along.

The stomach and thighs are the last to go "Faptial City" I call it and I will conquer it! You will start noticing even now you should feel to have more room in your clothes? Right now (in my opinion) just keep up the great work you have to date. Anything that requires balance usually engages the core muscles, your legs, abs are the largest muscle groups and you should consider them as part of any exercise to help you maximize your calorie burn off - Exercises that engage the core muscles the most are any that require balance including swimming other things like Pilates, Yoga even skipping rope, and even dancing! Right now it does not really matter what just that you look for reasons to be more active and act on them and find what you enjoy doing.

The fact you are seeing changes elsewhere - your face, hands, arms, legs, ankles, calves tells you that you are making progress and you are on the right track.

Just keep your focus on what you are going to look and feel like along the way as motivation to start to make decisions towards the person you want to become - notice what foods give you energy to do the things you want and which ones leave you flat, bloated and lethargic and exercise to support the person you are becoming and ultimately will be. There are no "mistakes" or "bad choices" only choices and effects - notice which ones support you and which ones don't and you will gravitate to the ones that will support your goals of being a more energetic, healthier and vibrant person!
