Figured we'd see how far we could get this going.
1. drive in movies
2. church socials like luncheons and bazaars (they've died out with the older folks sadly). this was a big part of my grandma's routine when i was little
3. writing letters to your friends
4. modesty (thanks again internet)
5. personal responsiblity
6. sitcoms (the good ones pre 90s)
7. good music (at least to me good music died when grunge arrived)
8. movies without CGI and using real effects
9. people trusting each other (let's face it nobody trusts anyone anymore)
10. my hair

Good list. Man i have good memories of renting vhs tapes and games as a treat.
Having to play a game in the same room as your friend and being civil about it instead of cussing into a mic like a 4 year old.
We actually had a rotary phone until 1998 or so.
I have fond memories of canning stuff at home and at my grandma's when i was little.
Money getting you a lot more stuff.
People being way more civil and not shoving their opinions at you
    The Atari being high tech
    5.2 inch floppy discs

MTV DID use to play music! Wow...so long ago.
I also remember canning food. I would love to learn to do this myself, its a good skill that everyone should have.

    Lets see...
..children learning to write in cursive.
..parents actually being parents to their children instead of being friends.
..children being able to accept it when being told "no".
..children being disciplined when acting out instead of being sent to a psych hospital and being diagnosed as having Oppositional Defiant Disorder...bogus!
...Men taking pride in providing for their families
    ...ENCYCLOPEDIAS!
    ...Gateway/Zenith computers
...old school arcade games with the joystick
    ...REAL MUSIC!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who lost that ability lol.
Oddly enough record players are coming back into style and not just with hipsters as more bands put out vinyl and turn younger folks onto the sound quality. Which is a shame as there's only one factory left in the US to press them. Sadly VH1 has stopped with music too. They don't even do their Christmas videos anymore. VH1 classic is our last bastion of 80s/90s videos.
Kids learning much of anything in public schools
Cars that didn't all look the same no matter the company
    arcades
    .25 game machines
    Cities without walmart
A time when life was simpler
a life without technology intruding constantly
you actually can find candy cigarettes online
We still have a skating rink but i doubt it's what it was in the 90s
Wow i forgot the icecream truck. They stopped in the early 90s here.
Going to the movies for less than 40.00 for 2 people.
    Teenagers not acting like thugs
Not needing cops in parking lots of malls and theaters
Discount stores that really are discounts (big lots has fallen a long way).
    The Hills store chain
The Red Barn fast food chain

    1) House telephones with the long bouncy cord that you can wrap around you
    2) VCR player and VCR tapes
    3) Blank Disc (the ones that they use to use as USB's before USB's came out) My mom use to give me a blank disc every time I had to do a science project. I hated it so much !! Thank the lord for USB's
    4) Radio tapes
    5) Cd players and old school radio's
    6) Aol and dial up internet
    7) Houses with strings connected to the ceiling fan instead of light switches (my grandma's bathroom doesn't have a light switch and the cord that use to turn the light on and off is gone so we never turn the bathroom light off :O)

Sadly they're gone here too. Last one i saw was back in 1997. Isley's restaurants; all that's left is their Klondike bars and chipped ham.
