Getting In Shape For Wedding and Beyond

Hello all! So far I have liked what MFP has to offer. The reason for me joining is that I need to start eating better, cut out the sugar and junk food!! I do not like protein shakes. I am getting married in the fall and want to look and feel good! I started my workout today, Week #1 of the Bowflex weight machine and alternate days I plan to do the HipHopAbs. I am not sure how much weight I need to lose (10-15 pounds), just would feel great being toned. My goal is to continue to stay motivated and work out everyday. My fiance does the Bowflex too, just would like more motivation. Advice or suggestions are welcome.

I am in the same boat--trying to get in shape for my wedding. I have lost 10 lbs in two months without using protein shakes or anything of the sort; I just stick to whole foods and don't shy away from grass fed beef, eggs, butter or bacon. I eat a lot of "fatty" foods and limit my carbs and I feel like I've been getting enough protein to complete my weight training and do some cardio on my gym days. Sugar is so hard to avoid :( I have to keep a careful eye on it for sure but I think the worst of it is definitely in processed foods so cutting those out will help a ton. Good luck and have fun!
  • Hey little_firebug, congrats on the 10 lbs! Yes, I love eating meat and eggs!! I have been eating avacados everyday recently. I am not good with carbs and the other nutritional subjects. If I am craving sugar, I have turned to fruit. I do not drink alcohol anymore, I am certain that I am allergic. Well I hope I can help you stay motivated and achieve your goal. Talk to you soon, have a good Monday!
