Hi! My name is Emily ans I am 22 years old. Ironically enough that is also my pant size I have put on almost 40lbs in the past year by various means (stress, depression, schedule, etc.). I am extremely disappointed in myself, and need and want to change. I have tried various things in the past but nothing has really worked other than prescription diet pills which are expensive and have side effects. I have an extremely busy schedule which prohibits me time to exercise. I also do not have support. That is what I am hoping to find here! I HAVE to lose weight for my health and for myself. I need to lose about 100lbs just to be at a "healthy" weight. If there is anyone that has suggestions, success stories, or any kind of motivation please let me know!
Thanks,
Emily
Thanks,
Emily

I'm friend requesting you! I have quite a few things I could tell you to help you out matter of fact
Welcome, you've already done one of the hardest parts. . . taken the first step!0 -
Hi Emily!!
My name is Veronica I too have a very busy schedule. When I first began my quest with MFP I started putting a few days of at least waking and soon after (about a month in) it went down to no excersise. Still I have been able to successfully loose 25lbs!!! its doable as long as you set reachable goals and have an understanding that this will not happen over night. I began arund may or june of 2010 now 6months later and 25lbs lighter. You can do this just try to plan your meals.0 -
Hi Emily! There really is no magic pill for losing weight but so many of us have lost an incredible amount by using MFP to track calories eaten along with our daily exercise. I've met lots of people on this site who want to share and give support to others. I encourage you to friend anyone and everyone you come in contact with so you build up a nice network of people. Don't give up but you'll need to do the work and remember, you didn't put the weight on in a day so don't be discourage if it doesn't come off as quickly as you want. It's a journey but, if you commit to the process, the rewards will be well worth your effort!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good luck!

Well, first step completed. You've identified a problem and have made a decision to rectify it. The thing about getting healthy is that yes, it does take time and it does take commitment. That's the reality. The truth is we make time for the things we care about. Changing your diet and watching what you eat, counting calories, drinking lots of water and getting lots of nutrients is going to help you lose weight. Unfortunately, by not exercising you will probabaly lose weight more slowly and you will be missing out on the major benefits of exercising like a boosted metabolism, rejuvinated skin, healthier heart and a natural anti-depressant. Also keep in mind that exercising as you lose weight will help you to tone as well. But whatever you make time for I'm glad that you have decided to join MFP. I'm on round two with this, I got frusterated and quit, but now I'm back with an awesome support group of real life friends and I'm loving it.0

I will first say that a good diet is 90% of weight loss. But you can get a good workout in without weights at your house in a matter of minutes. Start out with doing something like pushups, situps/planks and squats. You could try doing pushups for 30 seconds, then quickly move to situps for 30 seconds, then do bodyweight squats for 30 seconds and then repeat for 5 minutes. Move as fast as possible to get the most repitions in 5 minutes. If you want to change up that rountine then look up good tabata rountines online.
If you become a little more advanced you can try burpess. Again I would set a timer and see how many you can do withing 5 minutes.0 -
Thank you all for all of your great support and advice!! I do have one thing to admit: I know HOW to do this, or at least how to tell other people to do it, I am majoring in Athletic Training and part of our job is to come up with nutrition plans and workout routines for athletes or anyone really. But that is also one of our flaws: we make horrible patients!0
