MFP calculates a calorie deficit for you, so it's best to eat all your calories for the day, even exercise calories when you get them. This is especially important if your goal is low, like 1200.0

Thats a Yes! hehehe but only 50-75% of your exercise cals as MFP tends to overestimate.
Read these links... they explain it all!

i kinda wondered the same thing because just the past few days I'm not eating all my cals but....I do make sure that I eat at least 1200 otherwise I short circuit and want to eat wutevr is easily accessible in my kitchen. What I learned also thru various posts that if u eat less than 1200 cal/day your body will go into starvation mode hindering your weight loss cuz when u do eat ur body stores it as fat or something....too much for me so I make sure I at least eat 1200 and if I earn cals from working out and I feel hungry I know I could still eat something without sabotaging myself.0

You need to eat enough to keep your body out of starvation mode - the general rule of thumb is 1200 calories. It gets a little frustrating since the 1200 rule is there for people who are 6 ft or 5 ft, 220 lbs or 135 lbs...
If you have trouble eating all your calories I would set your goal to lose the 2 lb/week, and and try to stay withing 75 calories of that.
With that said, a spoonful of peanut butter, or a hand full of nuts can easily help you reach your target caloric intake, and in a healthy way.0 -
:blushing: Thanks alot guys. I guess I better go and find some peanut butter or something. Pretty soon I'll get the hang of all this.0

What exactly is the cal deficient that MFP calculates...what's that mean?
For me, if I want to lose 2 lbs per week, my daily calorie limit is 1200. If I want to lose 1.5 lbs per week my calorie limit is 1330.
Does that answer your question?0 -
I did weight watchers for a couple of years. Honestly dont try to over eat and stuff yourself. If you have lets say 24 pts to eat and you only eat 22. Bank them. I used to just bank the extra couple of points and after 2 weeks have a chocolate bar or something you are craving just make sure whatever u have doesnt go over your banked points. My ww leader used to do the same thing and she lost 146 lbs. You can do it! Keep up the good work!0
