Friends that Workout at Home

I only work out at home too :-) I'm SO self conscientous at the gym and the one trainer I've had in my life was a bully ... I really enjoy the Leslie Sansone workouts (I tore my achilles a couple years ago and can only do low impact stuff still), I also have a recumbent bike and the bowflex revolutions (which we just uncovered in the basement last weekend *lol*). In the spring/summer/fall I do a lot of biking on the paths around my city as well.0

Hi my daughter and myself do both gym and DVDs, DVDs ranging from leslie sansone walking DVDs, to slim in 6 and parts of insanity, we keep it varied to say the least ... I am 195 lb now and T times I feel self conscious at the gym (crunching etc) but on the whole I don't, cos it shows I'm making the effort and really don't give a squat for any other gym goers opinions, unless they are positive of course. But you have to enjoy what you do and how you do it, exercise should be fun add me if you want, the more people the better x0

Another self-conscious person here - always felt awkward at the gym. My husband and I walk 5-6 nights a week at our local high school track (2-3 miles each night) and I recently bought some weights. Once the time changes this weekend, we'll get our bikes out of storage and alternate between walking and cycling. I attempt yoga at home, but I'm horribly un-coordinated Feel free to add me if you'd like.0

Wow its so good to know there are others that like to work out from home. For a while i was worried I could never get a "gym body" without going to the gym but lately Ive found it is possible if i push myself and do it right. Its nice to "meet" everyone and i look forward to pushing each other and sharing home workout tips0

I work out at home or outside. I like www.fitnessblender.com. Easy to follow, no music - but you can provide your own entertainment. All different levels and choices.0

Hey! I work out strictly from home as well. I also have been accumulating weights, etc here and there and I finally got my husband to buy me an elliptical machine, I have zumba for the wii but i have slowly slid away from doing it.. I plan to start back soon. I also have downloaded some cardio workouts from you tube that look very challenging.. but i know they will pay of in the long run.. Sending you a request0

I and my husband both workout at home. We both quit the gym a while ago. He has done Insanity and 3 rounds of P90x and will be starting T25 next week. I have done T25 and am working on p90x3. I love the short 30 minute or less a day workouts and no driving to the gym only to find out I left my clean undies at home. I have not missed a single workout since I started and we both just set up workouts that fit our schedule. I like doing mine first thing in the morning to get them out of the way. We have a few different mats and a set of dial weight but no real "special" equipment. Now that we have a few different workouts we just mix and match as we see fit. My husband has lost 85 lbs and I have gotten back into shape after getting out of a wheelchair post getting hit by a car. So yeah these home workout work. Would love to tell you more.. feel free to send me a friend request.0

I work out at home (I have a spin bike, a 6-inch step for step aerobics and jump training, and a few hand weights) and by walking or jogging with my dog around my neighborhood. I hate noisy, crowded environments, so I gave up on gyms years ago.0

Feel free to add me! I log every day and I'm focusing mainly on workouts at home right now too. Mainly TurboFire and using the Wii for Zumba and fitness.0

I am not a gym person either.
All of my workouts are in the comfort of my own living room or outside under the big blue...uhem cloudy gray sky0 -
I workout at Home. I have a few DVDs that I like.
I tend to do 20 minute stretches of HIT training and of yoga, which I really love.
Feel free to friend me.0 -
I work out strictly at home. I don't even own weights, a yoga mat, or fitness clothes. I've been doing pilates with Cassey Ho on Blogilates.com for about 5 months now and this month is my 6th month. I didn't think I was going to last this long and that's why I didn't bother to buy any equipment LOL. But pilates have given me so much confidence that now I am about to buy everything I need and I am about to take my fitness up to a whole new level. I feel so much more bold and I feel like a real fitness person! I use to be ashamed of working out, especially if I worked out in public but now I feel confident that I can workout in public and I think I am finally ready to start doing so. Hang in there girl! You will grow out of this awkward phase, just give yourself some time.0

Adding myself to this thread because of the great suggestions...and I LOVE working out at home! I need the motivation of a voice telling me what to do and like the comfort of my own space, so home works best for me!
I've been doing videos and am a super beginner so I like Leslie Sansone fpr cardio and skinnyms.com for some light body weight/strength0 -
Hya, I have tried the gym a few times, but always feel like I'm doing everything wrong and everyones looking at me.Then I lose all interest in it, wasting the membership fee again. So I am slowly building up my own little home gym. I prefer it and and I've managed to keep it up for a couple months now, I know thats not great but it's good for me lol.
Anyone please feel free to add me as a friend.0 -
I workout at home by running outside or on my treadmill. I have previously done two rounds of Insanity, one round of Power 90 and a round of P90X. Currently I'm training for a marathon so mostly running outdoors.

I too workout at home, I get severe anxiety at a gym and it has nothing to do with people judging me, I just get bad anxiety .. I have discovered pop physique ( I don't think it's that new but I just heard of it) I started that today and I love it .. It's based off of Pilates which I also love.. I also do total body sculpt that I have been doing for years.. It's like a circuit training with light weights.. I have an iPad that I just pull videos up on from the internet and do them that way.. Fell off the wagon a few years ago and trying to jump back on and tone back up...-feel free to add me0

I workout at home too I have two small children so trying to find time to get to a gym doesn't work right now. Lol0
-
I also work out only at home. I love Cathe Friedrich videos and some by Jari Love. Cathe Friedrich is by far the best, though, IMO, because she has so many serious strength training ones. Right now I'm trying to figure out when to purchase a squat rack because I've worked up in weight. Anyone can add me if they'd like. I don't log my exercise on here though.0
-
Do you anything that could be used for weight lifting at home other than weights?0
-
I've done all of the P90x's, Insanity, Asylum, etc... and I prefer working out in my living room where I can swear at the TV. lol
I do have a planet fitness membership that I use occasionally just to change things up. I work nights, so going isn't an issue as it's usually me, and two or three other people. For me that is a HUGE step, as once upon a time I wouldn't of stepped foot inside that place.
I love crazy races. Tough Mudder, Spartan, mini marathons. I got hurt in a mudder last year in August. Snapped my knee cap to the side, and have been out of commission for 6 months. I'm Just NOW able to start training again, and damn it's hard to know where I WAS, vs where I am NOW.
But it's a new day. I'll find that girl again.
Feel free to add me.0 -
Also working out at home, it's providing more freedom to cry/cuss/scream/grunt/jiggle and sweat all over the place without anyone staring at me. Anyone feel free to add me.0
-
LOL! I love the last two posts.0

Yeah I don't know how many times I have yelled at Shaun T or Tony Horton. My hubby does the same thing. Planet fitness. LOL I love their commercials. I would so be setting of their lunk alarms as I tend to breathe heavy or moan and groan when I work out. Why? because I am WORKING. lol
