I take latuda. I also take wellbutrin and paxil xanax and topamax and a few other things that are unrelated. I just started the latuda, paxil and xanax this week. I am worried about weight gain. How fast does that happen? Right now I am never hungry at all. Does the weight gain have anything to do with eating or is it just something that happens? I already find it SO hard to lose weight.... Latuda makes me sleepy as far as I know. But it could be one of the other meds. So far I like it. Less side effects than other things I have been on.

I take Latuda as well and have found losing weight to be sooo slow I think if I didn't watch what I ate I would gain its getting frustrating.

I'm on 300mg of seroquel a day which gives you the zombie munchies, you wake up at odd times barely functioning to go to the kitchen. My other psych meds, yep i'm on quite a few, don't give me nearly as much trouble as seroquel does.

I'm on topomax, it takes me into a coma state. I've not taken latuda, wellbutrin, or paxil but never had any weight gain on any antidepressants. I did gain on Seroquel and Depacote though. I've been really successful at losing on Effexor, better than on zoloft. I also take klonopin, never had a weight problem with that, too busy sleeping or don't care enough to eat. I also take trileptal with no weight gain issues.

I'm on a low dose of Abilify for my bipolar. Lorazepam for the anxiety. Since I started it, I've gained back some of the weight I've lost over the years, and I'm hoping it won't be too stubborn to come off again. Can't say it's the medication that caused me to gain, though, because I've been experiencing major life upheavals.

I take topamax, lamictal and wellbutrin. I used to take lithium for bipolar, but I couldn't stand how it made me feel so I weaned myself off. I still get the swings, but I would rather handle them than feel like crap from the med. The lamictal and topamax do help them. I took Lexapro before and that caused weight gain. my dr switched me to the wellbutrin. it has worked much better for me, both for no weight gain and the med is just better for my symptoms. having to take the meds really sucks, but what are you gonna do? I guess we have to live with it. too bad so many of them do have the weight gain side effect. I took seroquel for a while and I hated it. Couldn't stand the zombie-like feeling so that had to go. Dealing with mental health issues is tough, very tough. And then handling weight issues on top of it just sucks.

That's my main issue with seroquel is it'll knock me out for 12 hours and i still barely function once i'm up. Funny thing is i found a medicine after out patient surgery that works just as well as seroquel without the side effects (I forgot the name) but the issue is it's a pain killer so they won't give it out for any other uses. I was on another sedative before seroquel that gave me no issues at all weight wise but i ended up having a very bad reaction.
  • Hypothyroidism is common with bipolar. Have your thyroid checked and not just the tsh test! This test is useless! You need more than that. If you want a list, go to Stop The Thyroid Madness web site and look up lab tests. I am not selling anything. I want everyone to be aware that our thyroids are taking a hit daily with the food, water, chemicals etc in our environment.

Tegretol, Wellbutrin, and Prozac are the latest cocktail. I still cycle, but it's mostly manageable I guess. I was heavy long before I was correctly diagnosed. Self-medicating, perhaps?
